One of my better purchases in several years

I was actually torn between writing two reviews, a one-star review and a five-star review or a single three-star review. Decided to write a five-star review and just say what didn't work.I purchased two of these laptop holders, but I am only able to use one.The bad first. It doesn't work for my MSI Titan GT-76. The corner tabs aren't tall enough to support the laptop. This is not something that I could determine from the product description.The good. It works great for my MSI Titan GT-77. The newer laptop is thinner than the older one, so the corners hold the laptop in place. It also allows me full access to all the ports on the laptop, something that my original laptop holder failed to do.If you have a one of the thinner laptops I highly recommend this laptop holder. If you have a more massive laptop like my GT-76, look for something else.

It holds my MacBook Pro 13" with no problems (though granted this is a pretty thin and lightweight computer). Seems like the open design should be great for keeping the laptop cool. There are foam pads provided for the bottom "feet" where the edge of the laptop rests, which helps keep it from slipping out. The velcro strap generally seems unnecessary, but I tend to use it anyway for extra security, mainly in case the end of the VESA arm it's mounted to starts tilting down.One small detail that could be better is that the velcro straps come wound up very tightly, which leaves the last few inches permanently creased and not very usable. I cut off the worst of the creased parts since there was plenty of extra length for my small laptop (and this actually made the straps easier to use in general), but it might be more of an issue with a large laptop.

Perfect for my gaming laptop so there's plenty of airflow, velcro straps are surprisingly sticky, easy assembly, the "x" and bumpers are plastic but they're not cheap or flimsy and the "arms" that slide are metal and come out pretty far. I can easily fit my 14" gaming laptop or my 17" work laptop. The part of the base that slides onto an arm mount is TOO SMALL FOR A "MONITOR MOUNT" so make sure you GET SPECIFICALLY a "LAPTOP ARM MOUNT". I haven't had any issues with it, and the bumper arms tighten really well. Great product I'm glad I purchased

So this is a pretty good idea to attach a laptop to a monitor stand. I think the biggest issue I have with it is that the brackets on the bottom need some way to stop the laptop from sliding off. the strap in the back creates a pivot point and makes it pretty easy to slide off. if the brackets had a lip to catch the laptop in the front this would be a significant improvement and a lot less frustrating.

I purchased this laptop holder to hold a laptop that can no longer be toted around (weak battery, flaky screen, etc.) and has effectively become an auxiliary desktop computer. I preferred the streamlined look of this unit compared to the larger flat ones, as there is no excess panel sticking out from the sides and back. It is stable enough for what I use the laptop for, which is playing videos and music and displaying dashboards. I'm definitely not writing a novel on it, and I would not recommend this product to someone who plans to do a lot of typing.I did dock a star because the supports on the bottom brackets are not deep enough, permitting the laptop to slide off easily. Yes, this happens despite the foam rubber grips being installed. I think it has a lot to do with the angle of the holding surface, which is a lot steeper than I expected. If the laptop sat flat, this may not occur at all (not that a completely flat holding surface would be desirable). The workaround was to add rubber bands (double looped) that hold the front corners of the laptop tight against the supports. Since this laptop doesn't need to be moved around at all, this is not a problem, though it would definitely be cumbersome for someone wanting to take the laptop off of the stand frequently.

I bought this as what I found to be the best way to mount my Surface that is both my work computer and a second screen. I have a typical monitor arm and finding something that could go nearly vertical for my mid-size device was tricky.My device is slightly smaller than the smallest the holder goes but since I don't need the built in camera I compensate with the strap going across the top of my device. It surprisingly does not wiggle in the slightest when I raise my desk up even though I have the holder nearly vertical.It was easy to set up and attach to my monitor arm and I am very pleased with the results.
