The hook makes it easy to fit the band.
These weren't purchased to use in braces, but I imagine they would be easy to use for what they were designed for. We needed a very small connection for a project and these worked fine.

Bought these for chicks leg bands
These were cheaper than buying poultry leg bands for my chicks, and were the same size.

I use these for knitting stitch markers !!!
These bands are great for stitch markers to help with my knitting. They are inexpensive and brightly colored. I tried using tiny hair bands but they got caught in the yarn. These work really well when you need to slip markers in your work.

NO RETURNS!
False advertisement. At first glance, no way this is 100 rubber bands… while I was almost wrong, actually I only received 94 of the 100 bands purchased. They are not the same size as the ones from the orthodontist even though they are advertised as such. No way these are heavy. Inexpensive does not forgive the product not being what I purchased. Product not eligible for return.
