GOOD STURDY LEGS! (Could improve with a support at bottom)
This is about as stable of a bench as we have ever had. Paraplegic (legs) daily use here. Much nicer legs on this than the last bench that is going into the dumpster after 1.5 years. It has a good solid construction. Still I do wish the legs had no possible wiggle in them, but they do have a little... destined to have this problem with the adjustability. However, they are much more stable than our last bench, which had a leg giving out.... should not happen with this brand. One improvement that would fully fix this is to provide and X support between the bottoms of the legs. That would make it rock stable, though it would take some engineering on the pieces to add a the snap in supports from leg to leg. I would pay $30 more for that option.

Good bench
I’ve used this bench for quite a few years. Had one just like it before. Only reason I got rid of the other one was because the seat got some cracks in it—due to many years of use. It’s a little bit wobbly—but it’s not a problem if you’re able to move yourself in and out of the shower with just arm strength. It has worked well for me.

Good purchase
The cushioning Allows you to feel comfortable and the back support and grab bar makes you feel safe while bathing. Makes getting into the bath tub easy.

Soft and comfy
This chair is super easy and comfortable to use. It felt sturdy and stayed in place while showering. Love it.Update: A year and a half later, I'm still loving this this chair and it's holding up really well. It is my regular shower chair and is perfect for transferring into a bathtub/shower combo. I've even used it for travel and it's very easy to set up and break down quickly. It stays put with the suction cups and still feels really sturdy. My one issue is that it doesn't have a cut out in the bottom so it's difficult to wash/rinse your bottom and the back of your body. However, it's super comfy and I feel very safe using it.

Safe Showering
Liked: provided a safe way to get from my wheelchair into the bathtub and was easy to assemble.

Unusable.
Have had with padded transfer tub benches for 40+ years. This bench is too tall for both a 5’3” and 6’ persons at its lowest adjustment. Bench depth is too shallow and combined with height leaves legs dangling putting pressure on underside of thigh-no thigh support. Bench too narrow, not wide enough for medium sized adult (seat width not frame width). Space between transfer pad and seat pad dies not allow slippage of shower curtain in between yo prevent water on floor. Odd texture on padding. Edge of transfer pad vinyl is sharp, unsafe for anyone with impaired sensation. Bench rocks, seems rickety and lacks stability. We have never purchased a shower bench that is completely unusable. The Lumex brand was the first tub bench purchased decades ago-same name, substandard quality. Please be sure to check dimensions before buying. Purchased and shipped from Amazon.

Just snaps together!
Easy to assemble, no tools, just insert parts and snap into holes. Adjustable in height and the back can be attached on either side. Nice durable rubber foot bumpers. very lightweight but strong enough for a tub bath. Excelsior!

Not entirely happy
I have been using transfer benches for almost 40 years and I have assembled quite a few of them during that time.First, the good.I prefer this brand/model over others for a couple of reasons. This back is much more secure with the lock-in buttons, compared with some other benches that only use u-shaped clips underneath to hold the hardware making it much more likely that the back will become detached (and dangerous). I also like that the outer cushion on this model extends a bit farther out, leaving a smaller gap between the edge of the bench and my wheelchair (less chance of falling). Now, the not so good.I previously purchased this exact same model from Amazon only 14 months ago in January 2022. The price I just paid (March 2023) was 58% higher! I know that prices have increased on just about everything, but that is ridiculous.I'm also not happy that I had to replace the bench so soon (just over a year, with daily use). Shortly after I purchased the last one it became clear that one of the cushions was not sealed well. It was obvious that it was soaking up water inside and there was no way to effectively remove the water and thoroughly dry it. This only got worse with time and by the time I threw the bench out yesterday I suspect it was harboring some nasty black mold inside (as evidenced by the black water drops and the foul odor). Also, the legs left some rust stains on my tub that are virtually impossible to remove. Time will tell if this new bench has these same problems.Nonetheless, given my preference for some of the design features of this brand/model, I decided to give it another chance (despite the outrageous price increase). Everything was fine with the assembly -- until I got to the very last step. When I attempted to attach the back section to the seat, one of the lock-in buttons would not lock into the corresponding hole, making it possible that the back would come off it I attempted to use it. After struggling unsuccessfully with it for about 30 minutes, I came to the conclusion that the hole was just a bit too small for the button. I filed the hole and finally the button locked into place making the bench safe to use, but this should not have been necessary! Clearly a quality control issue, and now I run the risk of rust where I had to file the metal. At least I can use the bench now, but I will update my review at a later date if I experience the same problems with water retention and/or rust again. No news will mean good news.
