Great price, it works!
I ordered this on 3/5 and it arrived on 3/8 - standard free shipping! The estimated date was 3/18 so I am a very happy customer.I read all the reviews on this product before purchasing and some people are saying it does not work properly.Well, it does. They might need to make adjustments on the head (hence, dual head). If the wrong head/bell is "activated" and say.. they are trying to use the bigger side, they need to swivel it around until it clicks. There are educational youtube vids for stethoscope if people need that demonstrated.Mine came with a replacement diaphragm and another set of ear buds. I agree with the others that the earbuds are uncomfortable, even after properly adjusting them to go with my ear position. But for $5.60, a cute pink color, and free quick shipping..can't really complain. Thanks!

Excellent Value!
A few reviewers have noted that this stethoscope just doesn't work, while most reviewers suggest that it works great. What is going on here? This is a dual-headed stethoscope. If you can't hear anything, pull on the head and it will come out slightly. Turn it 180 degrees and let it retract back in. Voila! You can now hear.Stethoscopes are very difficult to "screw up." If it isn't working, either you aren't doing it right or there must be a MAJOR defect that should be readily visible in the device. At its core, a stethoscope is just a drum with a tube attached to carry vibrations to the ear. If it isn't working, then there has to be an air leak either in the drum surface or tubing. In either case, you should easily be able to detect the problem (a minor leak would just make sounds faint...you would need something to be seriously wrong if you can't hear tapping on the drum head), and should return it for a non-defective unit.Someone mentioned that they couldn't use this to hear their cat's breathing. Since my wife and I have used this over and over while fostering newborn puppies for the county shelter, I am going to call BS on not being able to hear a cat breathing. We had a Siberian Husky pup that was severly sick and wouldn't nurse, so we had to manually feed it, which is risky because formula can easily be inhaled instead of swallowed by a newborn pup. After feedings we would check its lungs to make sure that any gurgling sounds were upper respiratory(this pup was suffering from an upper respiratory infection from being born in the shelter) and not indicative of fluid in the lungs. We were able to clearly make this determination on a puppy under 1 pound, and were able to hear clear breath sounds in its littermates as well. The one drawback to this stethoscope is that it is incredibly uncomfortable to wear...but I'm not going to mark it down because, at this price point, I'm willing to forgive the comfort issues. If you are a nurse who is going to wear this for hours each day, you shouldn't buy this model.

Used for Pregnancy
I used this while I was pregnant and wanted to hear my baby. I could hear my fingers if they were shaking. It was easy to use and it wasnt heavy. It worked okay if everything else was off and it did sound a bit unclear.

Great First Stethoscope
I bought this for a 3 yo who loves playing doctor. It actually works, she can hear her heartbeat as well as mommy and daddy's. Its also a nice pink color. Not that the color really matters. The only complain is that it hurts her ears and mine too the longer it stays on. My daughter kept touching and pulling her ears after she uses them. Other than that, its a great addition to her pretend world.

It's okay, but I'd spend more for a stethoscope that works better...
I purchased this item for a play-doctor kit for my young daughters. With that in mind, I certainly don't NEED a stethoscope for any medical reasons. Based on the reviews here on Amazon, it seemed to be hit-or-miss whether the stethoscope worked or not. And honestly, with using the stethoscope in real life, it's also hit-or-miss. To clarify, I am not in the medical profession so I don't exactly have experience using stethoscopes but it seems to be a pretty basic concept - place the round piece on your chest near your heart, and listen though the earpiece.Sometimes, if the house is absolutely quiet and I manage to get the stethoscope in just the right spot, I can hear my own heartbeat. Once or twice, I have heard it at a decent volume, but usually if I am able to catch a heartbeat, it's very very faint. I am doubtful either of my daughters has been able to successfully find and hear a heartbeat with this. I have tried rotating the head, which apparently flips whether the large side or the smaller side is being used. I have moved the piece all over my chest to see if a better spot would work better for a heartbeat. I have listened with the large side and with the small side. There doesn't seem to be any fail-safe method that will allow me to hear a heartbeat 100% of the time. If there is some secret to using this, I'm open to ideas! However, at this point, I have to say that I am a bit disappointed that the stethoscope doesn't really work great. With that said, however, my daughters still like this and fight over it. The earpieces do amplify the sound so if you tap on the round piece, you can hear it... but as for hearing a heartbeat? Not so much.Since the girls fight over this, I do plan to buy another stethoscope, but my next purchase will be for an item that costs more and has a higher number of reviews stating that it actually works well. I do NOT recommend purchasing this unless you are using for a child's toy kit and don't mind that you can't really hear a heartbeat through it.

Bought for toddler to ease fear
Sounds silly but I bought this when my toddler balked at the Doctor's office when they tried to use on him for a regular check up. I wanted him to be comfortable with the tool Nurses and Doctor's use and not create a bigger fear than necessary. He enjoys playing Nurse/Doctor with Momma or his stuffed animals.Fingers crossed that he will not freak out during his next check up.
