Looks and fits just like the old one
The toilet is probably 20 yrs old and the linkage for the handle was worn out and would get stuck. Bought this one and it matches the old one in color, fit and function. Thanks!

Legit OEM part.
Part came in OEM American Standard bag and looks exactly like the part I replaced. It is a poor design because it side loads plastic parts, but that's just the way the tank is designed.

A perfect fit for our American Standard Cadet.
While I was distressed to read the breakage comments about this OEM flush handle, I must note that our last one lasted almost 10 years. So when this new one arrived from Amazon (at a great price I must add), to play it safe, I first beefed-up the unit's tensile strength by reinforcing the arm and its handle connection joint. I applied Gorilla (brand) white *expanding* superglue everywhere the handle connects to the arm. Then I applied the expanding glue along the arm's bend and up along the first half of the handle's length. Since the handle has an "X" end-profile cross section, I ran this thickening superglue along *all four faces* of the "X" length. I sanded down the shape with 600-grit sanding sticks as the glue set and expanded. After 24 hours the glue cured HARD. For additional overall strength (and, yes, perhaps a little overkill), I then wrapped the glued-up arm in heat-shrink plastic insulation wrap used on electrical wiring and applied medium heat from a hair dryer. With the wrap shrunken tight and the handle now cooled down, I installed this considerably beefed-up unit and connected it to the OEM flapper's pull-chain. This handle and arm worked perfectly and won't ever break from repetitive flush handle fatigue--that I can guarantee you! (Please see my review of the OEM matching flapper and float.)

Ridiculously expensive for a flimsy piece of plastic
My American Standard toilets have been surprisingly reliable with the exception of these cheap flush handles. I have replaced two so far. As others have said, it really should be made of metal, not cheap plastic that cracks over time. It wouldn't be so bad if they charged a reasonable price, but you will have to pay a ridiculous amount to deal with their design flaw. And to add further insult, the replacement is more flimsy than the original. The knob wobbles. But if you want to repair your toilet, you really have no other choice.

Perfect fit!
This product was a perfect fit. We tried three other brands and finally found ont that fit our tank perfectly. American Standard 02T 4112.

NOT a direct fit
Angle was at 30* way too much, it scraped the inside of the tank. I heated it with a heat gun and once it was soft enough I bent it to more like 15*. Now it's perfect. Other than that it does the job as it should.
