works
Used it on a recent trip almost 700 miles of not very good roads. Held up fine. Since my hydraulics gave out the day before the trip I used a ratchet strap to hold the motor shaft against the cross bar of the trailer putting force opposite to the transom saver. Now I think this is the way to do it all the time. did not see a single bounce of the motor and everything was great. It would be nice to show in the instructions how to properly set the length of the bar. Otherwise I put this together in about 15 min in the dark just before leaving (ordered it 2 days before the actual trip). Good product. Thanks!

High Quality Easy to Assemble Transom Support
High quality product that was easy to assemble and install for our deck boat with a 115HP Outboard! Would recommend to anyone.

Sturdy and Lots of Adjustments
No complaints, bolted right up to my trailer and had enough adjustments to work with my 25hp Tohatsu outboard. Works a lot better than a rope to hold the outboard still while trailering.

Assembly required, but great STRENGTH!!!
This is the 2nd transom saver I have bought from extreme max. The first I had on my previous boat for about 5 years and never had any issues and it provided awesome support, I expect nothing less from this one as they are built with quality and strength. The one thing I would say is there is some assembly required and I actually had to drill one extra hole in this one to get it to set where I wanted, but it was pretty easy to assemble if you are mechanically inclined at all. GREAT PRODUCT THAT PROVIDES AWESOME SUPPORT!!!

Highly adjustable, robust components, sloppy build.
I recently purchased this transom saver to support a Honda BF250 on a Hewescraft OceanPro and EZ-Loader trailer. I needed the length and bend to accommodate the boat's extended transom. The boat dealer told me i didn't need a transom saver, but i didn't like the idea of a 600lb motor putting stress on my transom during trailering, and i have used this type of support for years on other boats. The bracket bolted on the EZ-Loader trailer in a pre-drilled hole in about 10 seconds.....thumbs up to EZ-Loader for drilling the hole, obviously for this type of installation. I was given a M-Y Wedge power trim stress reducer when i bought the boat, and this transom saver is very adjustable, allowing me to continue to use the M-Y Wedge and transom saver at the same time for some redundant peace of mind. I also use some homemade steering clips to eliminate side-to-side movement of the motor (3/4" PEX tubing cut to length, with a 3/8" strip removed lengthwise fits the Seastar hydraulic steering rods like a glove and costs about 10 cents). Only downside is, as others have mentioned, the sloppy design. The transom saver is designed so one rod installs inside another, but they are not sized properly and there is waaaaay too much slack between the mating pieces..... it flops around terribly during installation and removal. I can't figure why they wouldn't spec this item with much closer tolerances, it would be much stronger. Overall, it seems to work well and i would recommend it, provided the buyer was aware of the sloppy build.

Easy install, Good quality kit.
Installed this transom saver on my 2015 Lund boat trailer with 2015 Lund WC14 aluminum fishing boat. As luck would have it, my Lund trailer, built by Shorelander, already had a preexisting bolt in the center of the rear trailer crossmember. This allowed a super easy install of the kit. kits comes with everything you may need, hardware, including two different attachment points on the trailer side, is you have a roller in the center or not. Good zinc coated parts. Time will tell how corrosion resistant they are.

Works great for getting to the frame under the boat.
My 17' Pro-Line trailer does not have a crossmember at the very back of the boat, but I still wanted a transom saver and this works very well. I read reviews about folks who bent the angled bar, and I fully understand how that could happen. When dropping the motor onto the 'V' bracket, it needs to just contact the V. The hydraulic power of the tilt motor will bend the angled bar if it's forced down to hard. This is intended to keep the outboard from bouncing while traveling and keeping hydraulic fluid from being forced back into the cylinders. Snugging the outboard into the transom saver, (gently) will accomplish the intended purpose. The motor does not need to be forced onto the transom saver.
