If you like to keep a pen handy for jotting down random thoughts, or signing forms or whatnot with your own pen instead of the communal plastic pen that heaven only knows how many people have handled and spread their germs onto, then this is probably the perfect pen for you. First the form factor makes it perfect for carrying in your front pocket (vs. a shirt pocket). When capped, the pen is fatter and squatter than a normal pen, making it about half the length and 50% thicker than a normal pen, with smooth, rounded ends, meaning that the pen fits into a front pocket better and has no pointy parts to poke or jab you with.Second, the pen exudes quality. Its chrome-plated all brass construction gives it a nice heft in the hand and curiously, provides it with near-perfect balance. See, all the weight is in the pen-portion, with almost no weight in the cap, so when you pull the cap off and place it on the back end to make the pen full length, pretty much all of the weight is down low, near where you grab it, and that gives it a pleasant writing feel.Third, there's the Space Pen's famous thixotropic ink and pressurized writing cartridge. It'll write standing up or upside down and it'll write on many surfaces that other pens' inks simply won't adhere to -- a quality which makes it perfect for jotting down stuff in situations where your normally reaching for a spare pen and a scrap of something to write on, or when you're signing forms on a clipboard thingy while standing up and using the wall as a makeshift writing surface.Of course, the widespread use of smart phones, and especially voice-enabled phones, has cut down on the need for some of this stuff, but these situations still occur frequently enough to make having this pen worthwhile. And that's especially the case if you like to jot down random thoughts and observations on a small notebook, like a softcover moleskine. Plus, my wife still runs into situations where she's jotting down some note on a napkin or a business card, or the back of a magazine or something. I do the check book in my house and I could never find a pen that works. Don't get me wrong, I have a pen holder with 25 pens in them, but when it's time for me to use them they don't work. Needless to say this has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. However, in my busy life I always forget about it until I need a pen again. Also, I carry a pen in my car in case I need it especially if I ever get into an accident. Guess what, the other day I needed a pen while in my car and guess what. It didn't work!!So I finally said to myself I have to look into getting an expensive pen that would always work. So I checked out Amazon and the Fisher Space Pen popped up. It wasn't expensive compared to the high end pens I had in mind, but the reviews intrigued me enough to check it out. By the way, to solve this pen dilemma I would have paid much more than the $15 and change I paid for this pen.I received the pen today and I have to say it writes fantastic. I have terrible handwriting, but depending on what pen I use it can be decent. Many of my throwaway pens are horrible to write with even when they work and if I do find a good one it dosen't last very long.The Fisher Space Pen has a great feel to it and it makes doing the checkbook pleasurable again. I will always have this pen on me and no more pen frustration in my life.I will keep you all updated when this pen finally gives up and when I will need another cartridge. Having said that, if I can get a few years out of this I will be very happy and maybe I'll buy the Millennium Space Pen and it will be the last pen I will ever have to buy.Thank you Fisher for making my life that much easier.On a side note, the case the pen comes in is amazing. It brings me back to when I was a kid and collected pocket knives. It is pure Americana and the case is a collectible in itself. Also, the product is made 100% in the good old USA!!I highly recommend the Fisher Space Pen. It has been one of the best products I have bought in a long time.

This bullet pen has been around for years and I have lost count on how many I have owed over the years. I got one as a gag gift when I was In high school because it was used as a Plot device in the show Seinfeld which I was a huge fan of at the time. I instantly fell in love with the pen and have owned many more since. I have given many away, and many have been stolen of my desk or from my clip board at work over the years too. They are very desirable pens. Lately I have been carrying one tucked away in my wallet as an emergency pen. It is very small and can easily be tucked away in a small location for emergencies. when capped it can be kept in a first aid kit, an Altoids EDC tin, most wallets, in an ID card holder, In a purse of makeup kit, a cigarette pack, or any other small spot. When opened the cap extends the size of the pen to that of a standard sized pen making it very comfortable to write with. There is also very fine machined rings at the gripping point giving it a very clingy texture so it doesn't slip out of your hands while writing. This is very nice since the chrome surface on the rest of the pen is very slippery.Of course the best part of the pen is the Ink cartridge. It comes with a Medium point which is more of a large point in my opinion but there is a fine point refill available (which is more like a Medium point). It does write upside down as advertised but that is not the most impressive part of this pen. I work aboard ships, boats, and around machines constantly. I like the fisher space pen cartridges because they are capable of writing on wet or oil stained paper. regular ball point pens will not and marker or gel point pens might work for a little while in these conditions but will eventually fail. the space pen will work 9 times out of 10. Its my go to pen in the field or in abnormal weather conditions.

Un bolígrafo original. Los hay más caros, carísimos y de marcas de prestigio, pero no mejores ni más bonitos. Con este marcas la diferencia. Gran diseño, gran presentación en caja simulando los cráteres de la Luna con minifolletito explicativo de sus características... y escribe de maravilla. Como regalo, además de ser original, da tema de conversación (reloj aprobado por la NASA, escribe boca arriba y bajo el agua, tinta presurizada con nitrógeno anti-derrames, etc). Solo hay un problema: lo compré para un regalo y terminé quedándomelo, tanto me ha gustado.
