Best picks ever.
Any guitar player has preferences. I find the star makes it very easy to hold and pick dont rotate in my fingers. Good quality and made the sound i was after. But all guitarist are different so take it as you will.

No more dropped picks!
This is a review of the .50mm picks. I love them. As a rhythm guitar (or Irish bouzouki) player, I've found that thin picks are better for playing fast Irish rhythms without fear that chopping away will break your strings. The danger is that when you play with speed you tend to knock the pick out of your hand, or at least our of position. I really don't feel like using Gorilla Snot or other pick glues either. So I just dealt with it.Then I found these and I've been using them ever since. Try them! They're inexpensive enough to give it a go. You be a convert like me.PROS:You will not drop these picks!CON:This is just for the 50mm version!!! They have a higher instance of breaking, but that makes sense because there's a pointy hole punched in them. I gladly take the trade-off because :a) They're cheapb) No droppingc) As mentioned, I chop at my strings so I might have a higher instance of breakage than most.No matter what thickness of pick you use, I bet you'll dig these picks

Great picks
These are my hands down, favorite guitar picks. I've been buying with them for about a decade now, and I'll continue. They don't lose their edge quickly, they're easy to keep a group on, and they don't break any more often than any other pick I've used.

Wow! Who knew! Great picks
I borrowed a star pick from a friend when I had an Irish gig with a borrowed tenor banjo. I had been touring with my claw hammer 5 string. I also play dropped D guitar for Appalachian and Irish trad.I have been using Dunlop .60 reds for over 30 years. I buy them by the gross.I was amazed when I used this pick for the first time. The .50 seemed to be more accurate than the Dunlops and stayed perfectly in place because of the cut out. The gauges seem to be more to my style. I now use the .50 for Irish tenor banjo and then .60 for guitar with medium light Elixers. Now to figure out what to to with a gross of Dunlops?!Bob

Made a believer out of me!
I have a long history of using Fender mediums. I also have a long history of dropping my guitar picks. These are the best I've found at helping me hang onto them. I've tried three different thicknesses and find this one to be the most versatile. These are just a tad bit stiffer than some other .5mm picks I've used. I've found them to be a good general purpose pick - especially on acoustic guitars. The Star .60mm is another good choice but I find myself using this one more and more.

I carry some in my pocket all the time
Pick preferences are subjective. I can only say that I like these Everly picks a lot and have them in several thicknesses for different string gauges and types of guitars. Real easy to hold on to when other picks might slip away, and I like the string feel - a bit grabbier that nylon/delrin picks..........

Not "stable"
So, the idea is that the hole in the middle helps keep the pick indexed properly so it doesn't twist. I didn't find that it really twisted less. However, the main issue is that the picks don't hold a flat shape. Heck, some of them arrived with a slight bend in them. Yes, it's a .50mm pick, so it's thin and all that. However, I have other picks in this size that don't pick up bends. The material just isn't that good. Perhaps if you like thicker picks, you won't have that issue.

No Slip
For me these are my go to. I have even drilled holes in some "regular" pick to mimick these. Love the medium. The thins are too thin with the hole.....to me the thicker ones are still thick even with the hole.
