Work and match the finish
Work well and match the finish perfectly. Just seem awfully expensive and as experience has taught me, these are NOT universal.

Perfect fit for our ceiling fan.
We needed a longer downrod for our ceiling fan. It's hard to find one that has 2 sets of holes and no threads but this was it. Works and fits great!

Perfect
6 months ago, we had this installed with our oil-rubbed bronze Fanimation Windpointe fan. The integration is perfect. It installed easily, has a flawless finish, and is a perfect color match. We used the 36” length because we have a high peaked ceiling. Installing this on the beam that runs along the peak brings the fan down to a level where we can best feel the fan’s effects. Also: it does not rattle even when the fan is on high speed.

It served its purpose
We needed to lower a light fixture/fan so it would fit in an A-frame structure and this worked perfectly.

Did not fit my Fanimation ceiling fan
I purchased this to fit my new Fanimation Covert outdoor fan I purchased at a big box home improvement store. I wanted to get the matching color and a perfect fit, so I paid the extra to get the Fanimation downrod rather than a cheap one at the same home improvement store. This downrod did not have the threaded end required to fit the fan, and the bronze color was completely different than the fan of the same color name from the same company. I would have returned the item, but I did not attempt to install the fan immediately and missed the return window.

Not Threaded
My bad. I had looked at so many trying to find one that was less than 12 inches that I did not notice that this one is NOT threaded. The pipe has pin holes on both ends. Also, the material is somewhat thin so, it may not be suitable for a serious ceiling fan.Oh, I took the 12 inch one, cut, drilled, tapped, and painted until I had the one I wanted. Perhaps you could too.

Does not work with all fans
I needed a 12" downrod assembly to match the brush nickel finish of my Fanimation Spitfire fan housing assembly (please see my review for the Fanimation Spitfire). I have 10 ' ceilings and the Fanimation only comes with a very short downrod assembly which is not suitable for high ceilings. The color match was spot on to the fan assembly. Unlike some other downrods, I liked that the finished was baked on and impervious to typical scratches that can occur when installing a fan. I have had a bad experience with another fan manufacture that didn't do this on their downrod assemblies and instead only seemed to powder coat the downrod. I found these other downrods to scratch easily as you adjusted cover plates and set screws. That was definitely not the case in this scenario.I am not sure how this downrod will work for fans other than the Fanimation Spitfire. While it works great for the Fanimation, it will not work for many fans that you may purchase. I recommend that you check your requirements against this product before you buy if you plan to use with other than a Fanimation Spitfire. I checked Fanimation's website before purchasing to ensure fit before I purchased. The ends are NOT threaded which some fans require. So if you need a downrod that is threaded on each end, then avoid this one. The downrod does have holes on each end for pins which is how the Spitfire is assembled. If you need something different for your fan, then avoid this downrod. The outside diameter is 1" and there is ample room for running all necessary wires from the fan assembly to the ceiling wiring. The only real downside is that I think this downrod is a bit more pricey than similar products available from other manufactures, but if you go with another manufacture you risk the colors not matching or the downrod being incompatible. I went with this particular product since the Fanimation website claimed that this was certified to work with the Fanimation Spitfire and it does. If you're not using this downrod for a Fanimation fan that requires it, you may want to check for a cheaper alternative that meets your particular needs.

Just what I needed
These fans are simply terrific. I live in the desert and have ceiling fans everywhere. Moved into a new build and decided to buy best I could so got the 72 inch DC powered version. It's silent, self balancing, easy install and I van run it for three years for the same energy an AC unit uses in one year. Worth the up front cost.As with their fans, this pole is extra sturdy. Worth the price!
