Exelente for sinigang Philippin food

This is a great soup base! I made sinigang for the first time and was nervous it would taste like how I remembered, but this mix was amazing!The recipie I followed mentioned using 2 full packets, but I'd go light, taste add as you go. Very sour and tangy but in a delicious way.Have a ton of packs and will definitely be making this again soon 😋

I ran out of tamarind I usually buy at the Asian store, but I found it on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It’s good sour!

I bought this Knorr Tamarind Soup to make "fish head soup" like my mom's Filipino style soup. It has a yummy sour taste and my fish soup turned out delicious. But if you are using one packet for a 5 cup soup pot you really only need a 1/2 tsp or less out of it to flavor your soup because of the strength and saltiness. Although recent health reports say MSG is not as bad as it was first reported 20+ years ago I tend not to eat anything that contains a lot of it such as this. Had I known it contained it I would have gone with another brand. I will keep the packets and give some to my sister and mom. Will use sparingly till it's finished but I will probably go with another brand after this.
