Simpler Cheaper , Fast and Better Than Electric
That rare thing, simpler, cheaper and more effective than electric Keurig machines. Keep in mind because the Keurig capsule limits the amount of coffee used for brewing , the strength of your coffee is determined by your ability to control how much water is used. Only this little plastic (highly durable) device gives you that control. Why does nearly everyone in suggesting that MY JO is great for travel, somehow imply that it is not as good as what you use at home. I use this at home daily and my taste tests suggest that it makes better coffee, hotter and faster than other Keurig machines. And no maintenance.

Perfect for camping!
Okay, before I wrote this, I read many of the other reviews. Some people gave it one star, saying they revised their 5 star review after it no longer worked after a year. It’s $18. If it falls apart and I have to drop the different parts off to different bins at the city’s recycle center, and buy a new one, then so be it. That’s what, six days at Starbucks? That said… I love to camp, and I love my morning coffee. I first bought a pour over kit from Target for about $25, which worked well, but was crazy difficult to clean. (Cool metal filter with tiny holes, but difficult to clean the grounds out.) Somebody on FB recommended this. I figured at $18, I could take the risk. It works great! Follow the instructions carefully. I heat my water on my camp stove, and then pour it into this with a k-cup attached and pump it five or six times and I have coffee! It also comes with a reusable cup that you can put coffee grounds in. I’ll try that next, since we all know our landfills are getting land-filled up with used k-cups. (But I squeeze mine down to as small as possible, but still… I’ll do better. Hopefully the refillable cup works well!) There are also some single serve French presses on Amazon meant for camping. I might try those next and compare to this.

Very surprised with this. Worked a lot better than I thought it would!!!
4.5 STARS.If you're looking for the perfect cup of coffee then this probably isn't what you're after. I bought this to take on a cruise back in February. I knew I'd want coffee conveniently from my own room and bought this on a whim to see how it would do. We used coffee grounds because it was cheaper. It was worth the money but definitely had some pros and cons. Here are both.Pros:Completely manual. No electric needed.Easy to use. Very uncomplicated.Versatile. Can use k cups or coffee grounds.Small and portable.Cons:You will end up with coffee grounds in your coffee if you use grounds. I haven't used a k cup. I suggest bringing a small container of filters with you. Should solve your problem.I don't know that I would use boiling water. I think it has the potential to crack it. Water I used was very hot but not boiling. There is always some water left in the reservoir. You cannot pump the water through hard or you'll end up with half flavored watery coffee. The ring at the bottom seems to wear. Needs to have an extra one with it.All in all, this machine is a very good product for the price. It does what you want it to do and it was PERFECT to take with our cruise. We packed it in our carry on so they could see it if they wanted. Make sure you add the k cup or coffee grounds before the water or the water will just run through. Take your time with pumping it through to get a good flavored cup and enjoy! Would definitely buy it again; probably will!

Perfect, ultra portable, manual pod coffee maker
Just what I needed to brew pod coffee when traveling. Very easy to use and clean. The only slight negative might be the difficulty in removing/installing the flexible bellows, but I suppose that is necessary to achieve the tight seal required to pressurize the container. Seems well made ... very happy with my purchase!

Great cup of coffee, easy cleanup
I had a Keurig which went out of commission in my apartment when the building had a roach infestation and they decided to take up residency inside my coffee maker. No matter how many times, I took it apart...I still saw some coming out. So that went into the trash. I was looking for a coffee maker that would do single serve and I could thoroughly clean out each day.I took a shot on this MyJo due to all the amazing reviews. I am so glad I did. This device is amazing! It makes a truly incredible cup of coffee. Lots of flavor. Not the most robust I've ever had, but a noticeable step up from the Keurig. It was super easy to use, fast, and cleaned up beautifully. The plug that goes in the bottom, that the water is expressed through, was sealed up pretty tight. On my first use, nothing came out. I had to dump the water out and press through the plug with the tip of my fork. After that, no problem. I always removed the plug when cleaning it. Just be sure when placing it back in to press down all around it to make sure it seals in place. Otherwise when you fill it with water, it will leak.My only issue came after several months of use. If you fill up the coffee pod too much, the pumping action pulls coffee up into the water reservoir and makes it nearly impossible to espress. I had to wait a few seconds between pumps to get the water to empty in the cup. I wish it came with a scoop so you would know the correct amounts to use to make it work properly. You just have to eye it.For the money, it was an exceptional value. I was truly impressed by this device and I would definitely purchase again if I ever needed to.

Excellent for camping
Like that you don’t need power to brew a great tasting coffee. It can be a bit of a mess if you don’t hold it properly over your coffee cup but easy to use once you get the hang of it

Easy to use, nice purchase.
Was looking for something small, portable and easy to use. I work as a bus driver and often I don't get time to stop for a coffee. I do usually have time to access a microwave or kettle. This little gadget should just do the trick. Mine came with the MyJo Cup but not sure if that's typical as the box said "bonus". I've used it at home and so far so good. Works with Keurig cups. Coffee tastes good just as it should. I recommend when pumping to not go back and forth. Just pump downwards, remove the lid to let air back in and repeat. Back and forth moves coffee grounds out of the coffee pod upwards. Happy with this purchase.
