These decorative bankers boxes really make me happy. In fact, I just keep coming back for more because these simple boxes create a serene, organized, labeled backdrop for the creative foreground of our lives. When one of us works on a long term project, we often have a box for it. That way, when we need to stop for the day and quit working on that research paper, screenplay, art project, job search, college admissions prep, baby blanket, scrapbook, what-have-you, it all goes back into the box. Then, when we decide to continue working on our novel, knitting, drawing, or origami animals, we just grab our box and everything we need is ready to go. I used to keep our projects in clear plastic containers and was nearly driven mad by all the visual clutter. I just don't need every project in this house taunting me with its nagging incompleteness; no, I need a place to put ongoing projects that are blessedly out of sight and mind. So what if a project dies a quiet death of neglect in its black box? Well, so be it - the somber box colors make a great sending off box that looks smashing at the top of a donation pyre. This family of five has so many long term projects going that if we didn't have boxes like these, we would be swallowed up in a whirlpool of colorful ribbons, paints and whatnot. We would bob to and fro in a sea of books, glues, and glitter. We would definitely be eligible for one of those hoarding shows. Fortunately, if the "Hoarders" cameras caught up with us now, the production crew would be met with neatly stacked walls of labeled boxes. Take that, Minimalists and Spartans. In conclusion, if you are looking for an inexpensive, fun way to conquer visual clutter for supplies, files and projects, I highly recommend these boxes. Five stars.

So impressed! These are sturdy and easy to assem le. The bottom box just pops right open! I wanted to update our master closet but have so many old photos and keepsakes. My closet was the best option to house them. place. But the old tired banker and hodge podge shoe boxes had to go. I was so happy to find decorative boxes on Amazon. I have now made several orders of these boxes as I have made my way through things, organizing and editing down what I could, I kept finding more I wanted to contain in a beautiful way. These boxes have let me create a much more eye catching closet even with so much to stuff! I would highly recommend these, especially if you're trying to organize in style!

Like the look. but unhappy with the black rubbing off. When I ordered these, I read the 'rub-off' complaint regarding their "brocade" look boxes - did not seem to be a big problem for pin-stripe. HELP - does anyone know of a basic artist-type fixative that could seal the black color? I really don't want to return these. But, this is a problem if you actually want to use the boxes - not just look at them. Thanks in advance

These are quite nice and look better in my office than the standard bankers boxes. I swore they looked smaller than standard boxes when I unwrapped them, but they're the same size. The dark color makes them seem smaller. I took the advice of another reviewer and sprayed them with a fixative. The dye only came off on my hand when I rubbed quite hard, but I could see it being a problem on white walls (hence the 4 stars). I used "Krylon Workable Fixatif." It worked well, without being too heavy. I applied it pretty lightly and there were no streaks. Definitely an outside job! Very toxic smelling!

These are basically fancy cardboard boxes but I knew that based on the reviews and Q and A section on Amazon. I got them because I got rid of my old filing cabinet and wanted to store files on an office shelf with it looking junky. I hung hanging files in them and yes, it does make the lid not fit correctly. But it still covers well enough to look ok for my purposes. Good price for a 4 pack.

The boxes I received were dark purple, not black. It's not a problem of color perception...each lid is labeled with purple/gray pinstripe. These aren't as sturdy as white banker-type boxes I've bought at office stores, but perfectly fine if they're mostly going to sit on a shelf.

These are great! I was looking for a plain black file box but couldn’t find one. I’m so happy I found these, I was skeptical at first but they turned out to be very cute - and they don’t look cheap at all.

If you want a box that has a little better aesthetics than the standard white or light brown boxes, this item fits the bill. It is not as sturdy as the "wood grained" storage box since the sides are only single thickness, and is certainly more expensive than a box of similar construction – single side wall thickness – but it looks more professional than the less expensive storage boxes. It would be overkill for 'out of sight' storage.

OK, these are a bit more expensive than the plain or white boxes, but they are just as sturdy. I wanted this design since I have to store items in the corner of my small living room, and didn't want to use plain/white boxes. I got the pinstripe design (you can also get the 'brocade' design) and they look great stacked against the light grey wall. Decorative storage at a great price!

The boxes are good enough looking to store in plain sight, but they are not sturdy. They are not meant to be filled with paper or other heavy items for long term storage, and certainly not to be stacked vertically if they are heavy. Thus I do not expect them to last very long. But they will do for my needs.

Ces boites sont faciles à monter, solides, d'une bonne grandeur et très belles. Je les utilise pour y ranger des acessoires et les placer au-dessus de mes armoires de sous-sol, ce qui fait plus beau comme rangement et permet d'y accéder facilement tout en protégeant leur contenu.

The lid does not fit on the boxes when you have them filled with hanging folders. Pretty but not very practical.

I am totally pleased with these bankers boxes .I use them for separating business so only one issue to a box .
