Sailor HighAce Neo Beginner's Fountain Pen, Steel Nib, Fine, Black Body (11-0116-220)

Truly a beginner's pen. It is very forgiving for new users and serviceable for those with more experience.

This is an okay pen. I bought this because I wanted to experience a Japanese nib (without paying a super high price) and see if that would make any difference with how much bleed through happens while using it with a moleskine (I prefer Leuchtturm 1917s, but my local Barnes & Nobel were selling the classic moleskines 40% off and with an extra 10% off because I'm a BN Member and with a 20% coupon I couldn't pass up on it). It works (with the right pairing of inks) but it is a cheaply made pen. Yes, that's fine because the price point was low, but a Pilot Metropolitan is about the same price and is leap and bounds a better looking and feeling pen than this one.Overall it is what I ordered and I can't be mad with that. This is definitely a pen that, if lost, you won't be upset over.

This is a lightweight fountain pen with the upper body of the pen made of ABS plastic. The lower feed section does look like a lighter plastic. Some people claim that it seems flimsy, or there were quality control issues, but I have not found that to be the case. The pen wrote smoothly from the very beginning and has performed flawlessly. The nib was a fine point and the ink flow was wet and consistent. Compared to many entry level pens this is awesome. It is a very, very nice writing experience. The pen came with two proprietary ink cartridges (if you want a convertor, have to buy it separately) and was nicely packaged.

Using Sailor Kiwa-Guro Super Black ink cartridges. I like the pen and the ink, but unfortunately pen won't write on thermal/receipt paper. No problems with other fountain pens, including OHTO, Pilot, and Cross. I really only got this pen so I could use the ink cartridges and see if I would invest in a nicer Sailor. It is great on regular paper, but if signing receipts is important to you, avoid this pen/nib.

It does have the typical Sailor feedback to the nib. It's not scratchy, but you feel the paper. Does NOT dry out, travels well, I find it also doesn't burp during the extreme elevation changes I frequently put it through in Colorado (from 6,400 ft. to 11,000 ft above sea level and back).This is a cheap pen you won't regret.

man there is no way of getting around the fact it's cheap. the finishes are mediocre, so is the writing. scratchy as hell. the platinum plaisir and pilot metro are leaps ahead of this one. I tried smoothing the tip, it was unbelievably scratchy, I tried smoothing out the nib in vain. the tines were a bit uneven and grinding or polishing just took the tip off and now it writes like a 1.5mm broad vertically and fine laterally. the nib slit is not smooth on the medial surface , the tines readily move with a grating sound. I thought of using a brass sheet but since brass is softer I doubt it would resolve the issue. mind you there was no ink flow issue. the vertical up strokes ended up digging into the paper and the lateral move of right to left accumulated paper fibres on the tip.edit: I was in contact with sailor they sent me a new pen. will update.

It has a very fine nib which I love. It was surprising to find a fountain pen that works so well and writes beautifully.

就活用に検討していたので普段使いにも良さそうなこちらを購入しました実際に使いやすいのでおすすめです販売元のステーショナリーグッズさんの対応も、とても丁寧で良かったです

同時に2本買ったうちの1本がまったくインクが出ない状態になった。残りの1本は何の問題もなく使用中。個体差と言うべきなのだろうか？安ければ品質にばらつきがあるのは当たりまえ？専門メーカーとしての姿勢が不明。

毎日使用してもペン先が乾くのでおかしいなと思いながらキャップを洗っていたら、キャップの先から水漏れしてました。キャップが密閉されてないことを意味します。キャップのフック接合部分が穴になってしまっています。この価格帯で細い万年筆は希少であり、小さな文字のメモ書きに便利ですが、気密性が全てを台無しにしています

最初に手に取った印象としては、万年筆と聞いて想像される、しっかりとしたグリップ、重みといったものは正直弱いです。どちらかというと、安いボールペンみたいな感じは否めません。（値段が安いので当然ではありますが）ただ、実際に書いてみると、万年筆らしい書き心地はきちんとあって、コストパフォーマンスが良い感じです。そのため、万年筆で書く味わいを大切にしたいこと（手紙とか）に使うというよりは、普段のメモ書きなどに使っています。
