Good GAC works well is our water filtration system
Have had a chance to use the IPW Ind. GAC in our water filtration system for a few weeks. Works well. As with all GAC we've tried, it needs to be rinsed to remove the dust and soaked to help remove the phosphates from the acid used to activate the charcoal. We're happy with it and will order more.

Perfect replacement
I replaced the media in my pelican (now pentair) water filter with this product.Worked perfectly.Pentair doesn't sell direct to the public any longer, but home depot sells a kit for $269 (ouch).Just order this media for about $98 and make your own funnel out of a plastic milk jug. The old o-ring was still good, just a little lube is all that it needed.Youtube has the instructions on how to do it.Good luck.

Perfect
Live off grid in a hostile environment. I live off grid in Alaska bush.. my water source is from a spring fed creekWater is clear and cold.. However much of Alaska water contains arsenic and carbon removes it. This product also removes other products from water that are harmful. I built a carbon filter out of 4 inch diameter ABS 48 inches long with a small drain hole in bottom. It contains and slows water flow long enough to eliminate elements i do not need or want. This is a good product..

Too Many fines
I did everything possible to remove most of the fines, before I installed into the tank, but still took about 4 weeks of using before fines settled down. I originally poured the charcoal into a homemade fine screen unit and flushed it with the garden hose, several times. This still did not get enough out. Look for another company with less fines in it's product, if that is possible. If need I would buy it again and work even harder to get rid of fines for installing.

Good Quality
Nice media for whole house filter. I put it in the Beotron and it works great.

Works great after cleaning.
If you're planning to use this in a water filter design, you're going to need to test the PH as you run water through it. When I first started using it, lye was about all I got. It took a while for all of the lye to get cleaned out and start working properly.
