This probably saved my dogs life or significant injuries for her or me this morning.I heard the German Shepherd running up behind us, grabbed the horn out of my bag, and used it.GSD, stopped, reconsidered and ran off the other way.Great product!!!

I have two Australian Shepherds. Both Females . Occasionally they fight. When they do it is very disturbing and difficult to break them up. I’ve been bitten accidentally while trying to separate them because they’re in such a frenzy. Bought this for the next time. Well the next time came last night. They got into a big brawl. I grabbed the Dog Horn held my finger down on the pump continuously for what seemed like an eternity but was probably only 10 secs or so. They stopped fighting and ran to their kennels! No one was hurt. They are definitely afraid of that horn. It’s worth noting that I did give that horn a couple light blasts about a week prior to the fight when they were barking relentlessly at the front door. So I already knew they didn’t like it. So it does work to stop barking but I would not use it on a regular basis. I’m working on more structure for barking. The Horn is strictly in case a fight breaks out. Good Luck. This horn is not working on the dogs - 3 Shih Tzu at one household one block over but in my line of sight and a pit bull with a thundering bark across the avenue yet also in my line of site and ears.However, after a couple of weeks it seems I'm starting to train the dog owners, the jury is still out, but this may be working as they pull the canine in after a couple of blows on the horn. I'll keep working this method and provide an update down the road.It would be much easier if the dog warden or local township police would help yet I'm told they can't do a thing!UPDATE: As time goes on the adults are recognizing the horn and taking the dogs in. Fingers crossed. Pavlov's Humans!

I purchased this along with Halt, to protect my 3 small dogs when we are out on neighborhood walks. Some people think it is OK just to let their dog roam the neighborhood, and I worry about a dog attack. This horn is LOUD. If it is windy and you have a spray defense, the spray would probably end up in your own eyes. This is the first thing I use if a strange dog is approaching. So far it has been all I need. It also has stopped my own dog from reacting to an approaching dog. Stops the aggression and no one gets hurt...a win-win!....Here it is a year later and this product just saved my dogs' lives. It's a breezy day and I had my 3 dogs out for a walk. The breezy day part made pepper spray worthless. Two big off leash german shepherds approached us with teeth barred. I whipped the dog horn out of my pocket and gave it a good blast, and they backed off. 10 seconds went by and they started approaching again. I blasted the horn 4 more times and they went running the other way. This could have been a totally different result. If you walk small dogs this horn is a life saver!

The media could not be loaded. Bought this product after an out of control dog got loose from his owners grasp and attacked my dog. My wife and I were able to quell the situation, and other than being shaken up no harm was done. This story might have ended differently, however, if my 12 y old daughter, who weighs as much as our chill dog was on that walk instead of us. This horn was supposed to work as a deterrent and as we recently moved to the mountains possibly double as a bear horn. My son was out on a walk when he dutifully reported that he had been messing around (my son being very mechanically inclined) and found that the horn did not function at all. In case your wondering he did not break it. Should my daughter had been on a walk and something had turned for the worse, this nonfunctional horn would have failed her. She, and my dog could have been injured or worse. Obviously poor quality control. Stay away. Please.

It is a functioning airhorn, and that's how it is described. A buyer who wants an airhorn and thinks she will have a positive outcome with one will be pleased. My one experience with this one proved not to be entirely successful. In my neighborhood, unfortunately, I don't feel safe walking four dogs leashed and harnessed without a pepper spray gel for backup. I have never been able to fire that gel though. When moments of crisis have come and unleashed dogs have attacked me and my pack, I take a lot of abuse instead of hurting a dog (never met one I didn't like even when it was big, puffed up and snarling). Thank goodness my dogs can give as good or better than they take (a couple of times I thought I might have to spray my own). The pepper spray is there so I can relax and enjoy the walk. I know it will definitely send the meanest hound running in the opposite direction. I may be wrong about certain cases, but it is how I think and feel that matters. With just an airhorn I would not feel safe. These days I mainly depend on an electronic beeper, which has worked like a charm everytime so far.

Not very loud. Not effective. Dogs ignore it. I used it for the neighbors dogs. Owners were not happy and dogs didn't react. Wasted money.

Great product and just as described. I purchased this item to help with two issues. The loud horn sound to scare off the coyotes if they come near my yard while my dogs are out in the fenced area. It works, the coyotes run away. I also like to use the whistle sound when my two dogs start their barking at someone walking by. It is not as loud as the horn but is effective in distracting the dogs and making them stop. I had trouble figuring out how to remove the trumpet piece to get the whistle sound but the seller was very helpful in instructing me on how this was done. A simple twisting and pulling of the trumpet piece will remove it.I recommend this product for safety and training purposes and will purchase again.
