Don’t SOAK them. Don’t do the opposite either. DO THIS!
The key to keeping him happy depends on the specific environment that he’s living in at your particular place, not the standard, basic internet guidelines. However, tillandsia tectorum are quite sensitive to water and should never be soaked.Too bad, the seller did not specify this for everyone in the listing! To water them, they should be misted until the leaves are COMPLETELY wet. Make sure the leaves are dry within an hour. Now here’s where things vary. You have to pay attention to what they are telling you personally. Some of them need to be misted more frequently.I live in New York, and it’s winter, so the air in my apartment is drier in general. Airflow is important, but I run my air purifier anyway. He’s also lives in an open air holder on my coffee table. I have to make sure that I lightly mist him throughout the day.His lil leaves will start to feel sort of crispy around the tips sometimes, and I’ll mist them a little, only on the tips. He’s a tad unpredictable though, and his needs change all the time.(OH, don’t EVER use distilled water.)Aside from that, I blast him with a grow light, pretty much in his face, all day long. These guys need LOTSA BRIGHT LIGHT.I mean, if you don’t have any access to bright light at least half the day, then don’t buy one.Where you live, it may be more humid, and maybe yours lives in a terrarium. In that case, probably lay off the misting, and make sure he needs water first. Just don’t force him to be misted on a schedule.I know this sounds like they are high maintenance, but they aren’t at all. Once you get to know your guy, it will become much easier. You won’t have to worry about it anymore!Other than that, mine was rather small as well. I wanted to kick myself in the butt when I saw that I could buy the same size tectorum for $6.80 on another website. And another one. Another one too. That being said, even though it is the middle of winter, he arrived in top condition. YAYYYYY.Hopefully this review sets you up for success.

Jumbo jumbo jumbo!
This is truly a big boi! It doesn't seem to be very fragile and it is super healthy. Exactly what I wanted. I feel the item was described fairly. I have bought from them many times in the past and I will continue to do so. This store has never disappointed me.

Not so white
Far greener than pictured online. I thought it'd be more white. It's a common tillandsia. Size is pretty good. I ordered a large, but am new to air plants, so I don't have much of a size reference. Overall, she looks healthy, and arrived quickly.

Super cute!
Update: it’s now December and then plant is going string. Love this fuzzy little guy.Original: I found one of these fun fuzzy plants at a local nursery, but it was $34!! I happened to check on Amazon and stumbled across the same kind. I figured for the price $11 it was worth taking a chance. I’m so glad I did!! This came much quicker than expected and is very healthy looking. Let it soak for a bit after I opened it, but it looks very happy. If that changes I’ll update my review.I also love that they help communities in Guatemala: water sanitation and especially education. I’m a teacher and this fills my heart so much! I will be ordering from this company again.

Wonderful little plants
I was skeptical about them arriving in good condition seeing they came from the south up to my cold climate but they are just the happiest, thriving little guys. This particular kind of airplant likes misting rather than a deep soak so that's what they got. I am beyond pleased.
