Q: How long is the clip part?

The decorative part (the plastic) is 3.5 inches. The clip itself is 3 inches. I have long, relatively thick hair and it will hold it well either in part or in whole. I love these clips and they last.

Q: Does this barrette have a curve to it?

Yes, there is a slight curve in this barrette both in the spring clip closure and the decorative portion. If you own any other French barrette this is typical of the style. They are worth every penny paid for them.

Q: How curved is this? I want it for top of hair not ponytail. From top doesnt look too curved.

Not overly curved just for pony tail holding. My hair is thin, I am able to twist around to back and flip up or tuck in and it holds all of my hair in the back. If you have thick hair it is a very nice quality piece that will hold hair back off of the face, two side pieces clipped to center back, pretty and goes with everything. I have one in ebony and new wood I believe are the color names, and they are the ones I use almost every day.
