Musgrave Pencil Company Harvest Professional, Wood-Cased Graphite #2 HB Soft, Un-Sharpened, California Incense-Cedar Pencil, 12-Pack in Box

I bought these last year because I heard they are the last US pencil company. Glad I did. They look great and write smoother and darker than the common Ticonderoga or Staples pencils that we get locally. I just ordered another box, this time it's because I like them.

Dark, incredibly dark. Much better than the typical pencil.

I am confused with the fragrance of these pencils mentioned below; that which one has the best fragrance / smell of cedar1) Blackwing Matte Pencils - Very obvious beautiful cedar fragrance.Tie on #1 slot; in reference to fragrance else blackwing has a softer lead which make it a # 1 pencil as compared to musgrave pencils which stands at #2 because they have a little harder lead.2) Musgrave Pencil Company Tennessee Round Pencil - little spicy cedar fragrance.3) Musgrave Pencil Company Harvest Professional, Wood-Cased Graphite #2 HB Soft - fresh cedar fragrance.

These are nice pencils supposedly made with “incense cedar”. To me (smells are highly subjective) I hardly smell cedar at all. However they write wonderfully though which makes up for the lack of smell. They’re a little on the expensive side though. Still, a great pencil.

These are really good pencils and the cores are very smooth and nice, but they are pricier than the other pencils of the same quality, and also the hexagonal shape is a bit sharper and I feel some kind of discomfort while writing with these pencils for a long time. My top selection for this price range remains Mitsu-bishi 9850.

I bought other brand and they didn't write as dark as these and you don't have to put as much pressure. Different lead I guess.

I’m a pencil fiend. These, along with the red ones, are my new standard. I love the cedar smell and they write with no scratchiness. The leads are strong and all centered.
