Simply Amazing!
This is an amazing box set for curse of strahd, some people complain about the book itself being paperback but honestly it’s a very solid book and I don’t mind it being paperback because it still has that nice quality made feel to it. This set has blown me away by how great the packaging is done and how beautifully made these pieces are. The DM screen is gorgeous and sets the mood for the scene and has a lot of good information on the inside for while you’re running your game and don’t want to flip through the players handbook for the rules on things like grappling and such. The tarokka deck is wonderful and makes the readings very fun and adds a very nice visual to it that the players love and will connect with. This also comes with 12 postcards, 3 cards each of 4 different designs that you can use to “invite” your players to your game with, and they are not only funny and useful, but they are also beautiful. The extra books “creatures of horror” and the tarokka deck are very useful too, the creatures book explains the stats of the new creatures your party will face and the tarokka book explains how to use the deck itself. This deal is an absolute steal, an amazing box set for one of the greatest campaigns made for DnD for only $55. If you ever plan on getting this module, jump on this now! You will not regret this!

I love this and so will you.
I love it. Had written a really lengthy review about how the box is amazing and a lot heftier than anticipated. How the artwork in all the written material is gorgeous. I spoke to the quality of the maps. The handouts, really nice to have and look/feel great. In my opinion the post cards are nice but a little too lighthearted- or so I wrote in my initial review. The tarokka cards are big, so I had written that if you have small hands, shuffling will be a nuisance. The book itself, not a hardback, which I expressed in my review, makes me a little sad but it’s no big deal.I very eloquently described how the monster stat block book was convenient. Additionally I had mentioned that the tarokka booklet did not explain how to lay the cards but does describe their meaning. The DM screen really got a lot of praise for all its barovia specific info in my review. And so did the art work on the front. If you don’t already have the book, this is a great investment if you want to join the elite group of DMs that spend their free time planning a CoS campaign. If you are a filthy casual, just buy the book and tarokka cards... or use dndbeyond and buy the cards. If you’re a collector and/or just like gimmicky special editions, buy this, it’s awesome.Dear Amazon, please fix your app. My review would not have been this lack luster if adding pictures had not deleted all the text I had written. Please and thanks.

Phenomenal Module with Lots of Goodies
I would like to preface this review with saying to not take the user “Red Jaq”’s review with much regard; his perspective and review on the campaign is skewed and has much to do with the edition of DnD this campaign is made for rather than the module itself. The products inside this box set is great for players and it even includes handouts for them. The box itself is greatly designed and looks amazing. As far as the campaign itself, it’s phenomenal. The revisions within it from the old module are very welcome and have vastly improved the module and has made it connect much better and improved the flow overall. The campaign is very open world and not rail-roads; your players can go and do whatever. The only thing I don’t like about it is the module book itself is paperback rather than hardback.Great product, definitely buy it if you can. If you’d like to watch a series of the campaign being ran completely by the book, look up Twice Bittens Curse of Strahd play through

A New Look for A Classic
I'll start off with the bad. When I received my copy in the coffin-shaped box, I noticed that a single corner of the box was torn. I believe that this tear wasn't from poor quality but rather from weight shifting during transit and putting pressure on a weak point of the box, causing it to tear. It isn't that big of a deal to me personally but should be noted as a possibility. As for everything else in this box set, I see it as a major improvement on the standard book. The adventure is split into multiple paperback booklets, with each having different information for the adventure. Although the paperback design may make it more susceptible to wear and tear over time, I find it much easier to leaf through the paperbacks to find the information that I need.Since the material is broken down into booklets, it usually makes it easier to find what I need. I can have the adventure booklet open to set the scene while I flip through the monster booklet for the beast they might encounter. It's a welcome change to the usual appendices which I deal with in my standard hardback books.Unfortunately, it can still prove confusing to find certain information, as a certain NPC may only be described in one booklet, but not the other. This is a relatively minor complaint but I did find it strange at times. The other added materials are very nice too. Having a graphic of Strahd is a unique bonus as I could use it to show my players what they're up against, all while having a quick reference to the updated statblock on the other side. The map of Barovia is very nice and seems to be quality, although the map of Castle Ravenloft on the flipside is quite confusing as it shows different perspectives without fully annotating the changes between those perspectives. Also included are postcards which I found to be a unique touch for the adventure and a fun twist to formally invite players. The tarroka deck was also a welcome addition as it was included with a guide to using and reading the Deck. Although these are minor touches, they provide another level of immersion into a wicked horror adventure.I do want to quickly touch on the DM screen included in this box set. As someone who has made a small habit of trying to collect various DM screens, I have to say that this is my favorite screen by far. The colors are extremely pleasant and fit the atmosphere and the art is absolutely amazing. For the DM, it is an indispensable trove of information that makes running the adventure that much more of a blast.Overall, this box surpassed my expectations and, in some cases, blew them out of the water. There are some changes that took a while to grow on me before I fully appreciated them, such as having paperback booklets as opposed to a special cover hardback book, but in the end, these tweaks are unique and fun changes. I highly recommend this box set for any DM, aspiring DM or player looking to dip their toes into this amazing adventure!
