ES Robbins Trendsetter Chair Mat, 36"x48" Rectangle

Ordered driftwood for carpet..looks much better in the pictures...is not the soft beige with greyish undertones depicted, reminds me of 80s linoleum..sort of ugly. I opened box after a few days. The item was at room temperature. I found directions. I took off the cellophane and put it in the sun for a few hours because it was ridiculously stiff and wouldnt unfurl at all. I then I spent about an hour on my own attempting to unfurl it. What I learned: DO NOT attempt to do this on your own. Its HEAVY, the edges are KNIFE SHARP, the cleats are even sharper and the sheer roll tightness of this thing is an absolute nightmare...I cut the crap out of my hands. At one point I lost my grip for a split second, and it snapped back and cut/bruised the crap out of my leg. Even with 2 people trying to deal with it...a 45 minute ordeal getting it semi flat enough to put heavy items on it to try to flatten it out. It has now been 3 days. I have a heavy office chair, a bookcase and a dresser it, and it STILL isnt flat...and its now dented from rolling my heavy steelcase office chair over it to try to flatten it. If u catch an edge on this with your foot...it KILLS!! One thing it does do as advertised is stay in place on carpet, it wont budge. i am not even going to try to return it, attempting a repackage would be too painful...LITERALLY. Wish I just got the cheap clear one and called it a day.

The seller asks for ratings on durability. But the issue is that this thing comes rolled up and was stone cold hardened when I got it. It took two of us to unroll after days of "warming it up" and that was a struggle. It took a long time with a blow dryer and sitting near my fireplace to get it partially flat. Even after I got it mostly flat, it's bubbling up again while in use. It may be a product that isn't meant for consumers use or cold climates (I'm in Colorado). Overall, it's been a pain in the neck to get this to work.

I only wish this chair mat would come in different colors. I like it and use it as chair mat and one to put my dog ‘s food bowls & water on to protect out carpet.Only inconvenience was that it was delivered rolled up and it takes a few days to flatten it to the ground! We had to put heavy things on it to get it flat.
