Best strips on the market
These are my favorite keto tester strips because the color will match EXACTLY to the sticker color grade on the bottle so you’ll easily know if your in crazy af ketosis . So far this company has the best keto products.

Understanding what the strip colors mean in relationship to the body's level of ketosis.....
Mine arrived today. This could have been a 5-star, but are only getting 4-stars because the foil seal was not glued down on a little more than a1/4 of the top and since they are only good for 90 days after opening, I am not sure how long they will last. I will probably return them for a new bottle.I tried one-strip and it registered just slightly >4 mmol/L, so it appears to be working (since I should have started in ketosis a week or so ago by my diet, since I have been on a successful keto diet before). And by the information in the attached photos, I could/should be allowing myself to relax a little bit and eat a bit more. I am not looking to lose weight by way of starvation and possible induce other health issues.Since the product doesn't come with information about how the level readings correlate to ketosis, I looked it up and I am attaching some information in picture form that I found in case it is helpful to others.

Great quality urine strips!
These strips are very reliable if you just need a quick way to check for ketones, especially in the early stages of ketosis. Like all urine strips, they measure acetoacetate, which is useful when you're first starting keto and results are affected by hydration level. Also keep in mind that the results reflect your levels from hours ago, not your current state. The photo shows my result on Day 3 of restarting keto. Even though it says readings in 40 seconds, it achieved the final color in just 5 seconds. As your body adapts, it shifts to using beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), which doesn’t show up in urine while acetoacetate goes down, and then blood testing will be more reliable. I use the Keto-Mojo blood meter once I’m fat-adapted.

May not be suitable if you are a senior
These are the instructions which come with the package. Read carefully, because it may affect whether you choose to use this product or not.Note: Any visual impairment, including but not limited to color blindness, will affect the user's ability to read the test results. To perform a midstream test:1. Gently wash the genital area thoroughly with soap and water then rinse well prior to testing. Wash your hands.2. Remove the strip from the vial and use the strip as soon as possible. Immediately close the vial tightly.3. Hold the end of the strip farthest away from the test pad(s) and begin urinating. After 1 or 2 seconds of passing urine, hold the strip downward with the test pad pointing into the urine stream for 1 - 2 seconds. Make sure the test pad is completely wet.4. After removing the strip from your urine, immediately bring the edge of the strip into contact with an absorbant material (e.g., paper towel) to remove excess urine. Lay the strip with the test pad(s) facing upwards and begin timing.5. You may read results starting at 40 seconds. After 2 minutes, the results may not be accurate. Compare the test pad to the color blocks on the vial label. Make sure that you read the results in a well-lit area. Hold the strip close to the color blocks, and carefully match the pad to the color chart. Discard the strip after 2 minutes. What do the color blocks on the vial represent?... The color blocks from left (light color) to right (dark color) represent, 0 mmoi/L (-), 0.5 mmoi/L (+), 1.5 mmoi/L (++), 4.0 mmoi/L (+++), 8.0 mmoi/L (++++) and 16 mmoi/L (++++). Proper read time is important for best results. What does it mean if my result is negative?A negative result means that ketones were not detected in the urine. This is normal if eating a high-carbohydrate diet of if you are eating a low-carbohydrate diet after several weeks and have become fat-adapted. Once you've become fat-adapted, the ketones you produce may no longer be spilled into your urine.SUMMARY(1) if you are a senior, as I am--- (1.1) chances are you can not take the time to stop and wash the area in question. Getting to the commode is first and foremost on your mind!--- (1.2) starting and stopping the flow may be near impossible; or simply not long enough to accommodate 1-2 seconds--- (1.3) not be able to direct the flow onto the strip, especially if you are female(2) how to interpret the results? It's nice that all that technical jargon is provided but what the heck does it mean? What value(s) should I be looking for? What value is ketosis? What value is ketoacidosis? Also, what if my color is somewhere between 2 colors? How do I interpret that results?(3) the reason I sent it back is because I've been on Keto diet for 4 months-- according to their own insert, it's not likely to produce a useful result as I am "fat adapted."I've attached scans of the insert, both front and back.
