I'm loving this speaker.
I have some great portable speakers. The Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio 5 (which sounds just like the 6), and this Sony are the best of what I've had, or heard. Both are excellent, and I think very fairly priced! For smaller indoor spaces, the Sony wins. For big rooms or outdoor, I would give too honors to the HK, simply on overall volume and bass balance considerations.Sound; The build quality and sound quality of this Sony are tops. Having two woofers and two tweeters as they are implemented in this well thought out design is clearly a winner. The treble is smooth and airy, and well extended to above hearing. Having tweeters is necessary for the best treble, especially when using woofers well extended in low bass. The midrainge is perfectly balanced, having no peaks or drop outs across the whole bandwidth. Compared to the HK onyx Studio 5, the lows don't go as far into the sub-bass, but no other portable speaker does. The bass is well balanced and does extend deep enough for complete satisfaction, even for a bass lover. Room placement makes huge differences in bass response, and I find with this Sony, I prefer it closer to a wall in most rooms, and closer to a corner in big rooms, to get the bass level I like.Features; The Bluetooth connection is fast, easy and strong. The live vs default sound feature can be desirable with some music in some spaces, an is fairly subtle, and natural.Controls are easy to use, and well thought out, with good, small light indicators. The light show feature (default) is easy to turn off. It seems like a novelty, but is fun sometimes.Waterproof IPX 7 ...and dustproof. It floats!I charges and runs at 5V.. and can be used to charge a phone or tablet. It has decent battery life with built in features to extend play when the battery is running low.It will run off the AC adapter, and charge at the same time. The aux connection sounds great, and is automatically selected upon plugging in.It has enough weight to prevent rattling around on the soft integrated feet.If you decide to go for true L & R stereo, there is a simple pairing it offers for a second unit.It also connects with other speakers in mono while in party mode.Cases are available separately.Overall;I heartily recommend this speaker.

I don't generally trust renewed (refurbished) devices but this one is GOLD
I got the SRSXB33 earlier this year for ~115€ and I absolutely loved it in the following weeks, taking it to a pool, house parties, using it as a backyard cinema next to a video projector... Now recently I wanted to give the same XB33 or the bigger XB43 to my father as a gift, but the big one didn't seem to be worth buying in full price due to comments stating that it isn't a huge difference compared to the smaller XB33, and the competition in that segment is very good.BUT, for ~105$ which is about 20 bucks cheaper than the smaller XB33 I got, AND being in basically new conditions (I didn't find anything wrong with it), AND also including the charging cable and everything else, it is fair to say that this device was completely worth it and the value is great. Now some warnings to level expectations. This model (XB43) is very heavy. It is portable, but I wouldn't take it over the XB33 to my trips. It is more of a stay at home speaker that you can conveniently place around the house. It has a very solid battery life, I haven't measure it but it does seem to play "all day long".The Speaker Group functionality works, but it isn't very easy nor fast to activate. For once, having different models, it doesn't seem to work as "stereo" speakers, only as a group (the sound is duplicated in both) which is fine to expand the sound, but not ideal for using as home theater. The syncing takes several seconds, up to a minute, but after it is done, it works great.

Great value for the money!!
I have bought two of these for the current price of one new one. I bought one at first, to make sure I liked it. The second one just came in. They were shipped in plain box, not the sony box. They were bubble wrapped, and both had the charging chord that plugged into the wall. No scratches on either one, and both looked brand new. I wanted two so I could use party connect or stereo pair.I actually bought these to use at the pool. I had two wired speakers on the side of my house, but one went out this year. This is so much easier taking these outside, and putting them wherever I want.I will tell you they are heavy for bluetooth speakers. I think they each weigh 6.5lbs.So, this is not a speaker you want to take on your bike.I am so impressed with the sound! There are three actual settings for sound, and if you download the app, you can eq bass, mid, and high. They also have a light feature, and you can change the lights to pretty much any color if you download the app with many different patterns. For $119.00, you cant go wrong! I am so glad I took a chance! I am so happy I found these!

Best sound for the price.
It was a gift for my brother who lives in Türkiye. He was amazed by the sound and lights. He studied it at least 15 minutes. I like the JBL sound too but price was higher on that so I decided on this when it was discounted for a few days.

Great Full featured portable speaker!
First of all, I'll say what I was looking for: a mid-size, name brand, feature-rich speaker that can connect with multiple other speakers of the same/different type. This checked all the boxes. I also tried other brands, including Monster, JBL, and UE. The JBL Xtreme 2 was the only one that had comparable sound. The Sony was king on highs and muds, but fell just short on bass. And I'm a bass head, so this was very important. But the bass differential was more than compensated by the app (with equalizer, diff sound modes, DJ capabilities, and fun light modes,) battery life (significantly better,) lights, and the options of what you can pair with it. I also got an XB-33, and nect is hopefully the Xg500. I also prefer the design, can be horizontal or vertical. I even use mine as a lil soundbar, and it is fantastic in that role. Also uses Sony's proprietary LDAC codec for superior sound quality and transmission. Mine came in the box in absolutely pristine condition, not a scuff on it. An awesome speaker, and an even better value!
