Found an actual Engineer Scale made in aluminum
I was happy to find this "Engineer" scale in Amazon after searching several companies and websites. This is the scale that my director and his engineering team specifically needed for their work - and it is color coded. Which is an added plus! It took a while to find this Engineer scale. I searched and read the descriptions carefully as many of the scales listed for sale are for Architect, which we already had in our office. If I was an Engineer I am sure I would really like to have this Alumicolor Aluminum Scale. It is a well-made, durable, sturdier than the plastic ones. the measurements will not rub off,, and the three colors - red, blue and green are pleasing to the eyes. Absolutely beautiful!. I will given another review as soon as I receive feedback from my Engineers on their usage of this scale.

Nice, very nice. But noisy.
In an estimators environment usually quiet, hardworking, diligent folks, I just have to be careful not to make too much noise with this. It is made from high quality aluminum. Nice, but potentially noisy. That is my review. I am very pleased in the quality though.

Best of them all
I bought almost all of the scales that Amazon had on their site. None of them had an accurate scale, they were all over sized by a lot over 12 inches and they slipped all over the place while trying to drawing a straight line. This one showed up and I put it through all the tests that I had done on all the others. Okay, let's get into this. The scale is heavier than all the others. The finish is a satin aluminum, nice. The markings are finer than all the others. The sharp corners are nicely chamfered and nicely deburred. You don't have to mash it into the paper to keep it from slipping around, while trying to draw a straight line. The color coded lines in the middle of each face, showing what scale you're on is really nice. I love the heft of this scale and it's dead straight. It looks like the markings are printed on, but honestly. at this point, I don't care if they wear off. This is the only scale that Amazon has that has met MY seal of approval

Bought it for sewing. Short and strudy and easy to grasp to move.
Not in need of great accuracy here just wanted a short ruler that allows me to draw straight lines when sewing and this is perfect. Easy to pick up and slide or move. And short enough not to be in the way of other things in general. So recommend but it's one of those items you may never realize how nice having one is. I also bought a smaller around similar item in 6 inches with a slider for holding in a shirt pocket but it's actually a little too small and harder to grasp. I really like this larger around one in girth so to speak and so easier to grasp to move. I may buy a six in one in this size and let my husband have the smaller one with shirt pocket clip.

Works as intended
Been using daily for about a month now. I'm an excavator and keep this in my pocket for when I need to scale layout off blue prints. Works as intended and the numbers are still clear and haven't rubbed off like they do on some of the smaller plastic ones.

Too large
I wouldn't consider this a pocket scale. It's a full size scale that was cut 6 inches and relabled. It's way too wide compared to actual pocket scales.

Doesn't sit flat on the table.
The ruler has a slight twist so it rocks on the paper. Returned it.

Bent and imperfect cuts
I was excited to buy solid aluminum drafting scales. Even though it was a bit pricey compared to hollow aluminum and plastic versions, I bought this product because of its durability. I bought two scales (both imperial and metric) for a Canadian College and I was greatly disappointed to see that they were damaged/poorly manufactured. By looking at some of the clean cut edges, it's clear that there were problems during manufacturing. Due to these dents, the scale will not sit flush with the table.

It rules
Great metric scale ruler. It rules in all different scales. And each one, whether it be 1:50, 1:150, or 1:175, RULES!
