When on very easy and fits perfect .. does a great job mulching and chute is doing its job well...

Had never taken the lawn tractor apart so I wasn't sure what to expect. Most fasteners were clips so not much problem. I did not have a torque wrench to ensure the blade bolt was tightened within 80-100 psi as specified. Other than that, few issues. The directions require you to use the lawn tractor manual to take the lower carriage off the mower - good thing I still had it. The pictures were not in the instructions were not great. Would have appreciated an online link with actual photographs since I had never done it before. Line drawings just did not show enough detail. They show no drawing of the chute add-on in place, so it is hard to know when it is properly installed. The poor illustrations slowed me down such that it took about two hours to install this kit. Installation problems aside, I am very happy with how the lawn tractor now mulches the grass. No bagging, raking, and quicker cleanup around edges with a blower.

The fit and quality of the mulcher is fine. There are some small gaps, but they clog with grass pretty quickly, so it's not constantly blowing dust and debris out of the holes. The blades seem decent quality and have cut just fine the 2 times we've used it since installation. Worthwhile purchase.

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this, but I must say it works. I have a Yard Machine 42 inch mower and this is the mulcher that is recommended for it. It was easy to install, but I did not use the suggested procedure. I just jacked the whole mower up and put it on jack stands and laid down where I could reach the blades. Total time maybe 1/2 hour.Time will tell about durability, but I must say it made short work of a 1/2 acre of all kinds of leaves and in some places they were a few inches deep.Price was good too. Box Store wanted $90.

So the Murray mulching kit is routinely unavailable. This one is close enough. Blades work fine and the plug has a small gap but nothing major. You will need to move the metal arm out to be secured by the outside bolt only. Product itself seems fine enough for quality, obviously I figured the plug wouldn't be exact.

I bought these mulching blades to replace regular blades on my Craftsman riding mower. They work great . I just jacked up the mower go under and switched out the blades. It was pretty easy to do. They mulch the grass great and I don’t have to take the yard now. I would definitely recommend these blades. The blades were sharp when they arrived.
