LEGOMonster Fighters 9468 Vampyre Castle

This is 5 stars according to my son who is 9. He states "the monster castle is great because it has alot of detail. Also it is realistic (in terms of functional parts.)" It was a challenge to put it together, but he was able to work through it in two days almost entirely on his own.The play value is good, however, like all lego sets, the scale is small so it is hard to get even little hands inside the rooms and move things about. However, this is merely a matter of personal taste. I like the larger scale and more artistic sculpting of Mega Bloks (a compatible company) and then to integrate the smaller detailed pieces from Legos to hybridize the sets for a more creative experience. If one were to take the Monster Fighter Vampyre Castle and (for example) mount it on top of the Mega Bloks Dragon's Sorcerers Lair, this might make for a very creative hybrid set. Since I haven't tried this particular arrangement and don't know if it will work well, it is a play at your own risk suggestion. However, we have had great fun hybridizing the the Mega Bloks Vorgan Ice Fang Ship and Dragon Mountain sets to add the small precision Lego pieces and accessories that Mega Bloks doesn't have enough of. I also find ways to purchase Mega-Bloks far more cheaply than Legos. Be warned, they take up much more space.

My daughter & I enjoyed putting this together. However, it is difficult to move as some pieces are less secure. It has a lot of cool features and was fairly easy to complete, though it did take some time. I think having a board to keep it on would help make it more secure, especially to be moved room to room. The price was comparable to stores though our Walmart recently had it for $30 less when they cleared out the Monster Fighters to make room for the new Lone Ranger Legos.

This is by far and away my son's favorite lego set. Aside from all of the cool features, i loved that each bag set was labeled by number, so it made the assembly so much faster, about 4 hours.There are so many cool features that come with this castle like: - 7 lego mini figures incl dracula, bride of dracula, 2 bats, skeleton and 2 monster fighters - monster fighter car - coffin for dracula - laboratory - bed with hidden stairs - dungeon - piano - cauldron for spellsCheck out my photos to see some of the details you don't see in the description.

I don't believe the things that the kids are in, but my son was so thrilled when he got this. I just regret not 'kragle"- ing it because I knock it down when dusting and since then my son hasn't show the enthusiast to re-build it. I think re-building is not really a thing for lego fanatics - my son has since used the pieces to build his creations combining from different sets but I haven't gotten him to put this thing together...What you should expect from lego sets is that they are expensive, they are fun to build, fun to destroy, fun to create something completely different, but never fund to put all pieces in baggies and re-create the same creation later. Speaking as a parent the cost per minute of fun is rather high, but I would still rather buy these than any console game. I guess as a parent you can never win.

What an AWESOME reaction my 5 year old gave when he opened this Christmas morning.Yes I know a reaction is one thing, how is the product!!It was a tough wait for him while I put it together but well worth the wait.I truly believe this castle is VERY solidly built.Not only are the directions easy to follow (without a doubt for the size of the castle) But it it put together in a FUN design.A SMART design, a COOL LOOKING design and Most of all a PLAYABLE design.The monster characters are an amazing addition to any monster fighter collection.The Car looks so cool when all together and the net throwing design is fun!Unfortunately vehicles are our nemesis and rarely stay together well for play, this one is not an exception.I don't know if there is a fix for this, but is is our only frustration with LEGO's to date.I know my son is below the recommended age, but he has proven himself to be an adept player of the little Lego sets.

This set was almost impossible to find at Christmas time - and forget finding a deal on it! But good old Amazon - found it for $5 off, including free ship and no tax - beats the retailers 3-fold!The set is really cool: my son loves that all the "gems" are included, it creates a lot of imaginative play, and it was challenging but very do-able for him at age 8.

My son is in love with the Lego's Monster Fighter collection. I found out that Lego's will no longer be carrying this line on their shelves so I bought the Vampire Castle,The Warewolf and the Bride (with the very cool glow in the dark head). All Lego products are quality but the only thing to note is how small the pieces are and how long it takes to put everything together. My Son is five and loves the finished product. He will play for hours with all of his "Monster Fighters" collection, but they fall apart A LOT and my husband is constantly putting them back together - never throw away your directions. In all fairness the boxes usually say ages 7 or 9 and up - but try telling that to a five year old.

I was in the store looking for this when my water broke so I didn't get a chance to get it. With the hustle of having a new baby it didn't cross my mind to buy it. Almost 7yrs later anyone that had it had either been used or they wanted way too much for it. I found this one and it had never been opened!! It was brand new. Yes it was almost $100 than when it originally came out but it was worth the extra money to find this.

The set is extremely creative with very innovatively designed pieces. The attention to detail is incredible and the set affords an all-engrossing, highly entertaining experience while building it.Probably the only thing lacking was that there should have been more pieces to complete a boundary wall so that the castle feels ''enclosed''...
