Q: Would this fit a large man (approx 275 lbs)?

Probably not. It fits my 180 lb husband alright but probably wouldn't be good for anyone much larger than that.

Q: What is the maximum adult weight Classic and Watersport Classic vests will support. How does one measure accurately for your vests when ordering on ?

The ad for these said what the maximum weight was, which I believe was in the 300 to 350 lb range. You do not have to measure, buy the adult for adults. The straps are adjustable and will fit a very, very large person comfortably and a small one also quite easily. I like mine.
