Just what the doctor ordered
Low wattage psus often don't come with extra cpu plugs but often come with pcie connectors. This converter makes 8 pin pcie to cpu power for higher end boards.

As expected
Perfect for those builds that use a hungry CPU or dual CPU that could be powered with a rather normal PSU for some spare PCI power cables.Always make sure you have enough power to support your system tho :)

For when you need it...
I needed to provide an extra 12V power connection between my power supply and a server motherboard. The power supply only came with two CPU power cables, so this one allowed me to adapt a PCIe power cable to CPU, and it's worked flawlessly. Cable is put together well.

Works perfect if you only have one EPS connector for CPU on your power supply.
Used this on my MSI motherboard. My older 750W Corsair power supply only has one EPS connector. This adapter let's you take a unused PCIe cable and convert it to EPS. I ohm'd out the cable before I installed it. I also measured voltage on the EPS end of cable before installing. Everything was built correctly. It basically converts three 12V wires from PCIe cable into four 12V wires for EPS/CPU. The other pins are just ground. Saved me over $100. I do not overclock as I'm only running a Intel i5 13500 CPU.

Works great!
This cable works great, has solid connectors, and a high quality shielding. I'm using it to power a secondary (overclock) CPU line from a PCIe. My PCIe has its own 24v rail made to power several GPUs. Don't go converting cables if you don't know what you're doing.

Works - PCIE to CPU
My 7GPU motherboard setup required 2 - 8pin CPU power. My 8 GPU PSU only has 1 - 8pin, so I used this adapter to convert one my extra PCIE 8pin to a CPU 8pin. So far everything works and nothing is caught on fire. It's a win for me.

Good quality adapter cable
Good quality cable. Make sure you know what you are doing. I originally thought this was just a CPU extension cable, but it is actually an adapter from PCIe to CPU 4 or 8 pin. At first, I was like why is there a pin missing on the female side. That is because on a PCIe they are both ground pins, but on a CPU connector one is ground and the other is power. So they pigtail the ground wire within the cable. Depending on youur PSU and Mobo requirements, this little adapter cable can save you from buying a new PSU or a new MOBO. Thats if you have a spare PCIe power cord. This can definitely get you by and save some money. Just make sure you know what you are doing. This cable also appears to plug into a 6 pin PCIe source as well as the additional 2 pins on an 8 pin PCIe are both ground which also means that the extra power pin on the CPU side is pigtailed as well. Depending on what CPU you have, this should be fine for either main power or the Aux power connector.

This cable is unable to provide full-spec 12V 4+4 8-pin power.
This cable is missing a conductor. This cable also has a short circuit between two pins. This cable is in principle unable to provide full-spec 12V 4+4 8-pin power, since this cable only has 7 conductors. In fact, PCI-e cables coming from PSU do in general only have 7 conductors, so the full-spec 4+4 is out of question right from the start.
