Awesome
This ascender is awesome. Very well built. It is a lot larger than I thought. Quality construction. I had a giant carabiner and it went on perfect. I bought a half inch diameter rope at Academy for $20. It is a braided nylon rope used for anchoring boats. Using a safety biner, from an old harness, I fed the rope through the factory loop and around the biner, cut it to length, and ran it through this ascender. Made a very affordable linesman rope.

Simple to install and feed rope through.
I'm reviewing the black rope grab ascender which can be installed mid-line. This helped me climb safely and position for some tree work. It was faster and easier to ascend with than the GRIGRI that I use for descending because the rope can freely slide down and quickly grabs when pulled on the other way whereas the GRIGRI is designed for belay/descent and pulling the rope through it on ascent is more difficult. Since there are no teeth and it grabs the rope by friction, it does not put any undue wear and tear on my climbing rope.

Work good but noisy.
Just wish it was smaller and quieter for the deer woods! But a great value nonetheless.

Held me in place for hours. Rock solid.
Hard to beat this rope grab for the price. Held me in place many times for up to a couple of hours at a time. Easy to adjust. Only downside is it has to be put on from the end of the rope if you don't want to use tools. Make sure to get the correct sized rope for your needs. Also it only grips while under load so be aware it will slip until loaded with enough weight.

Saddle hunting
Must have for saddle hunting .. quick and safe..Update::: I have several of these now and are an excellent tool for hunting.. a little noisy so I always carry a 25’ line with one on it .. setup in advance and run the ascender on the safety line all the way to stand with no noise and it is much easier to climb in the dark with one line

Very nice feel . Not ideal for my intended use .
Very nice construction. FEELS good to hold ...no sharp edges . I'm not a climber , I want it handy man work . It is not suited for my application because there is no good way to tie it off . I wanted a device to securely hold a line after I pulled the line tight . This needs a way to secure it to perform that function.

Looked to be a quality made product
This appeared to be a good quality product, it would not work with OSHA construction size rope
