Pelican 1607 Air Case Replacement Wheel Housing Units - Left & Right

I use my 1607 AIR case pretty hard, I guess. I routinely load the case up with around 50 pounds of gear and travel through a lot of airports. TSA agents were kind enough to destroy two of the four latches and I had to replace those... but that is a different story. : ) I am about to install the third wheel set on my case. With rolling the case over all sorts of urban terrain over long accumulated distances loaded up with 45 ~ 55 pounds, eventually the wheel ball bearings wear out. Trust me, when one (or both) of the wheels develop a slight wobble, do yourself a favor and order a wheel set post-haste... the slight wobble can quickly cascade into a large wobble and eventually into a wheel that does not turn very well.Replacing the wheels is an easy task. You will need about five minutes and an allen head screwdriver---the mid-size allen head driver. Not the large one and not the small or tiny one. If you are frugal like me, if the wheel set is not completely destroyed, maybe hold onto the old ones just in case for the next in-between time waiting for your NEXT set of wheels to arrive.After replacing the worn out wheel set you will be able to luxuriate in the smooth motion of the wheels turning like new (because they will be). If you travel or abuse the case like I do, enjoy them while you can until they wear out and you are doing this again.BTW---I am in no way complaining about the quality or life of the wheels. Do I wish they would last longer? Sure. But as I tried to make clear, I am not kind to the wheels and they take a good deal of wear and tear from me. I am just happy the wheels are easy to acquire, arrive in a decent amount of time (five days or so) and are super easy to replace. If you think you need a new set of wheels, do not hesitate... get these for your 1607 AIR case and make your life a little better in the process.

The media could not be loaded. The bearings didn’t last long at all. These are way overpriced for the quality you get. You should be able to replace these with third party wheels like you can on the 1510
