Except For The Big, New Splinter, Very Nice Option
I got tired of buying the typical vinyl chair mats for my carpeted office. The vinyl mats cracked quickly and STANK. And I mean they stank for weeks. Plus they were filthy and greasy; I assume a remnant of the manufacturing process. This bamboo chair mat offers a nice alternative. Anji manufactures it well - no splinters or loose felt on the back. And it comes with a nice felt bag so that you can roll it back up and store it with some protection. Best of all - NO STINK! The only dart I can throw has to do with the thickness of the felt padding on the back. The felt provides a non-slip surface against the carpet and also some structural rigidity. This mat would benefit from a slightly thicker felt layer to provide a bit more rigidity. Overall, even though this product has a rich price tag it provides good value.UPDATE 12/10/12I bought this product in March 2012 and actually started using it in June 2012. Today the middle of one board cracked and splintered, about a 4" long splinter. I expected that at some point, but not within 3-4 months of light use. So I downgraded the mat from 4 stars to 3; hopefully I won't have to downgrade again 3 months from now (fingers crossed).

Great Product, a bit pricey
I purchased this product so that my chairmat would blend more nicely the wood floors in my officer, rather than the lame clear plastic chairmats. This Anji mat is great, looks good and is of high quality. I purchased to additional Anji chairmats for my father's office as well to replace his gnarly plastic mats that would never lay flat. While the mats are truly some of the best I've used, they are a little pricey. But, I was willing to cough up the cash for both the visual aspect and the quality. A little extra sting in that they are made in China, but I haven't noticed any bamboo forests in the U.S. lately.

Exceeded my expectations!
I bought this mat to use in my study, under the office-style chair that I use at my computer. I was concerned about how it would hold up since it would be on carpeting, and I am not a small person. I need not have worried!! I have had it for a couple of months now and it is holding up perfectly! Would definitely recommend it.

6 month review
I bought this in september, thinking hey I'll give it a shot over the vinyl protectors which last 2-3 months with my daily use. As mentioned in a few other reviews it "walks once every week or two but that is not a problem. The product was great for five months. However, about a month ago one of the segments began to separate (cut my foot on it the first time I "noticed" it. Finally, the segment completely separated making the mat useless. At roughly one hundred and twenty bucks I've paid twenty dollars a month to own it. The vinyl ones are significantly cheaper on an amortized basis. For this kid of money I expected well over a year of use. No warranty no buy. Sometime the cheapos will last six months I think I will just go back to them for now on. Not worth the money unfortunately.

Working well.
I've had this several months now and it's been great. Saves wear and tear on my HW floor.

Bamboo Floor Mat
The mat stays in place and the chairs rolls smoothly around it. The quality is very nice. It's great that you can pick the mat up and just roll it up if you want to get it out of the way. I wish I had ordered a carmelized color I think it would have better blended with my bamboo floors. The natural color makes a bit too much statement. I would rather the mat be more obscure.

much nicer than aging clear plastic
Purchased one of these a few months ago and am very happy with it. Gets hours of daily use and has worn well. Just purchased another for a 2nd desk. Great aesthetic alternative to the old plastic chairmats.
