Works like a charm....
So we had Japanese beetles wrecking our fern bed. This product actually works. The directions say to place the lure downwind of the infested area "to intercept beetles heading toward it." This didn't make sense to me... I placed it about 30 feet upwind of the plants, so the odor of the lure is blown over the infested area. And it worked; quickly. The bags say they hold "thousand of beetles." That's unnecessary hyperbole. "Hundreds" is more accurate. In theory, it's large enough to hold thousands, but it would probably take long enough for the trapped beetles to start decaying - and the decaying beetles will mitigate the efficacy of the trap. So ... buy a few spare bags. A single lure is good for quite a while, but you'll want to replace the bag roughly once per week, in my experience.

It takes time… but it works!
I have a small front yard in a townhome. There are orange lilies and a rose bush is in the center among the lilies. They were here when I moved in.Last year the rose bush was decimated. Only got 3 blooms because of the devastation. The lilies were perfectly fine. Totally untouched. This year I watched closely as leaves sprouted and grew. Wham. All at once the leaves were being decimated. A friend suggested it was Japanese beetles and to get the bag trap.It says to place it a good distance away from the area, but that’s impossible for me as I am in a town home. So I hung it on one of the shepards hooks which is a mere 2 feet from the rose bush. It’s been up a little over a month. I saw some beetles here and there in the bag but today I checked and see it’s jam packed with beetles. It’s been raining on my days off so my yard is semi neglected because it’s dark when I get home.I was happy to see so many in the bag and I’ll empty the bag on my day off when I cut the grass and pull weeds from mulch the flower bed.I included a pic of new growth on the rose bush, (the red leaves) and in that pic you can see how close the bag trap is to it.Will def be proactive next year and will be sure to buy and hang the bag as soon as we start getting warm days to maybe prevent decimation of the bush.

Works, but smells.
Got rid of a lot of Japanese Beetles, but now it’s a stinky mass of dead bugs.

Works well....
This was easy to assemble, the picture sure did help! Found a few of those darn Japanese Beetles in there already, yah, none on my plants, that's a glorious thing! Before I had this I was taking 10 a day off the cherry tree, then I found this trap and so far it is working well. Thank you so much.

Just what I needed for the Beetles!
This is the second season (summer2023) I've used the trap and I can't believe the number of beetles it traps! I empty the bag into a zip lock bag and freeze that so I may keep on using the trap bag which has held up well through all kinds of weather. Very good product!

It brings all the boys to the yard
I got this to get the Japanese beetles off my grape vine. It started working very quickly, bugs were piling in within a few hours. Unfortunately it just attracted even more beetles, and my grape vine was covered in even more than before. So my advice would be to find another option.

Effective but costly.
This product is very effective. I have trapped hundreds of beetles per day. Easy to use. However the cost for the kit is high for two pieces of plastic, bait and 3 bags.

Japanese Kanzan cherry made it through its first summer thanks to this trap.
Every time I try to grow a Japanese Kanzan cherry tree into a large pot size it grows healthy until I put it outside and then the Japanese beetles it to death and it dies. Very frustrating and I finally went on a warpath with these beetles and it looks like putting this about 20 feet away from the Japanese Kanzan tree was just what I needed for it the tree to make it through its first summer in the ground without being eaten to death.
