Good pads, a lot of pain.
I have to say, the pads did what they were supposed to do. They stuck to the inside of the shoe and they held on tight. I had to really pull on them to get them to come out. Unfortunately, they just killed my feet. After a day I was in hell and I had to take them out. That being said; they operate exactly how they were supposed to and I can't complain about them. The pain was probably supposed to happen before the issue got better, but I have to say, I just couln't wait for it to get to the better part. Still five stars.

(My) Podiatrist recommended
Once I got the pads in the right spot, they have significantly reduced the pain/inflammation in that area of my foot. I had my PT place them. Went to see my podiatrist today, and he recommended I get more for my other orthotics, rather than going through the company they use for orthotics. I thought it would be better to have them built in, but he said these were very sturdy, won't collapse, and the sticky is SOLID.I will say that I wasn't able to go straight to wearing them full time. Took a few days to break them in and get adjusted.

They work, with some minor issues
They work as advertised, with 2 issues:As with other reviewers, I found they did not stay in place for very long, about a week if just placed once. But if you lifted and moved it several times, it loses its ability to stay in place quickly. But they held long enough that I could try them out and confirm where I wanted them. Then I marked their location on shoe insert, and used GOOP to glue them down, and now they stay in place. The other issue others noted, and I have too, is that they are a relatively soft rubber which makes them adhere to my sock as I try to slide over them. Not horrible, just something to manage when putting shoe on.Other than that, they seem to hold up and do the job.

Not Recommended
I wear a women’s size 6 1/2. Even with a small size shoe, these metatarsal lifts were too small. In addition, they are hard and not very comfortable. I would recommend another brand.

Too painful to be beneficial
The pain was so intense after wearing these for the first few hours. It left bruising and was hard to walk after. Definitely firm, but way too firm for me to have any benefit.Went back to my squishy metatarsals. The adhesion was fine for the time used. Have no idea about long lasting.

Works While It Sticks - Less than 1 week
Absolutely resolved my metatarsalgia on the first day of use, so I know now what I need for that - but this pad isn't it because the adhesive completely wore off in less than 1 week. I will be looking for a different pad with better adhesive or a different method of use. I was able to double my walking distance immediately and pain-free, but I need something that stays put. I would call this experiment worthwhile since the price of this short-lasting product isn't too bad. I won't be ordering it again and wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone if there is a better quality option.

Buy these!!! These pads are amazing and allowed me to wear heels again!!!! I’m buying more!!!
I have recently been diagnosed with Morton’s neuroma and afternoon weeks of crippling pain in my foot and not being able to wear heels of any height, I tried these last night. I only wore one on the foot I have the neuroma in. I didn’t use the adhesive, just put it in my sock and then put on three in. Heeled boots. I was amazed!!! It felt a little odd at first simply because I wasn’t used to it, but my foot never had the first twinge!!! I’m a bargain shopper so I was leaning toward the cheaper pads but they looked so thin I figured I’d be throwing my money away. These sold me on the visible thickness. I love how these worked so much that I’m ordering more today. My foot felt normal last night and I was able to dress as I usually would instead of wearing flats or tennis shoes. Btw, a chiropractor diagnosed my neuroma and after adjustments, helped to decrease the pain while wearing flat shoes. I recommend chiropractic adjustments and these pads if you want to feel normal again!!!!Btw, I purchased a couple of different styles (Full and partial insole, etc) and options from different brands and these are the best ones I purchased.

Perfect and highly recommend!!
I am VERY glad that I took the time to look at reviews before making my purchase. I *highly* recommend these because of the thickness and quality!! A runner on here loved them, and I knew they understood HOW they are supposed to work to be effective. My podiatrist said that patients so easily give up on metatarsal pads because they are painful. He explained that the foot needs proper time to adjust to the new support for them to work effectively as they are designed. This make take up to two weeks. So, for two weeks I put my big pants on and toughed it out, and my feet are finally happy with great support. My prominent metatarsal head does not hurt now. I am in steel toed work boots for up to 10 hours each day, walking on uneven stones and rocks. After I found the correct placement, I taped them to my Prostep insoles so they had no chance of moving around in warm boots. A+++
