Very easy to replace!!
This is a quality pool filter and does a great job! A little pricey, but Pentair stuff usually is. Very easy to install, just two fittings and hold-down bolts (if they bolted it down to begin with. Mine wasn't bolted down, so I installed the bolts.) Unless you have no mechanical skills, don't pay a pool company to change this filter out. Also, this price was $100 less than the best I could find in town on sale.

Worked out great
Our old filter had become brittle and leaked. It also was hard to thread top to bottom. New filter matched right up and was very easy to install by ourselves.

Important part had a crack
I bought this filter because the old one I was using was this type and I thought it would be easier for me to replace my filter. When it arrived in the end of March, I checked the part water coming in and out and made sure they were the same size as the one I had. But didn’t install until June and tried only after I filled the pool with water in July. Then I found outgoing part leaked. I never thought there was a crack in the new connection and so I tried and tried but didn’t work. Then I found the crack, and so I wrote a letter with two pictures to Pentair, California. I didn’t get any reply but found Pentair trouble shooting site. I paid $5 for membership and asked the expert. For some reason the cost wasn’t just $5, but plus $30, 24, which I didn’t think I authorized. Anyway, the expert suggested me to return or replace the filter. Unfortunately Amazon doesn’t accept this kind of return after 30 days, I found today. So, I don’t know what to do with this expensive brand new filter which doesn’t work.

Serves its purpose, takes a beating in the Florida heat and sun
This is my third complete tank since the original was installed in 2005. I have personally installed two out of the three tanks. The tanks themselves serve their intended purpose. The Florida sun and heat does cause wear and tear on the structure of the tank over time. Besides replacing the entire tank two times I have replaced parts of the tank also, including the lid, gauge, O-ring, lock-down collar, center filter core and drain cap. The timeframe here should give you a good guestimate for how long the tank will last and what parts you may need for tank upkeep. The filter itself will have to be cleaned and replaced at regular intervals of course. I wish the lid wasn't so damn hard to remove. I advise securing the tank at the bottom with concrete screws or bolts to hold down the tank securely.

Low price and easy installation.
I purchased this item to replace the original unit installed in 2005. The lid was cracked, which seems to be a common failure point for this unit. I could have purchased the lid alone, but for almost 40% of the cost for a new unit (which includes a spanking new filter), why bother? Everything I needed came with the unit (including pipe thread tape) and all mounting holes and components matched up perfectly. The only parts I contributed were new tap con screws--the originals were still good, but rusty. The installation took less than an hour and the only tools I used were an extra large channel lock (a large pipe wrench would have been equally effective) for the two inch fittings and a socket wrench for the hex-head tap cons.

Installed less than a year and parts breaking
Installed by Leslie Pool and the filter PSI gage brook within 5 months. Inner tube fasters (split top and bottom) broken. After you struggle with those defect, the filter seems to work well

Unless You Are in the Upper 1%, This is for You
The first thing to “like,” was that my local pool store wanted $200 more, and then would charge another $90 to “install.” The install, which I did, was to loosen two unions, take out the old tank and slide in the new one, replace unions, hand tighten, and I both good to go and $290 to the better. Cleaning the filter, when it needs it, is a snap, just release the pressure, loosen the ring, lift it off, and then (and this is the hardest, pry off the top using a rubber mallet on the two “wings. Take out the filter, and I wash mine off first with a hose, then put it in a five gallon bucket of water and TSP, let it soak for 20:minutes, wash that half off and invert it back into the bucket. If the water is really dirty, I will replace it with fresh solution. I alway use some silicon lube on the “O” ring to both make it easier to slide the top on, and to also mitigate the chance of a leak. Also, for the last month, I have uses a PoolRX “canister” in the pool pump basket where water is constantly flowing in-and-out. Commentators on Amazon raved about its ability to deal with algae, and to date, they seem to be spot-on, though we haven’t had as much rain as we had earlier in the summer. The true test will be next July and August when rain and heat combine to present a perfect environment for algae. But also, true to the PoolRX web site, I haven’t had to add a drop of anything to the pool for the last three weeks; no chlorine, no salt, no shock, no acid, everything is in (unusual) balance. And as to scrubbing down the sides of the pool, a thing of the past, at least so far.
