Hercules HA206 Guitar Neck Cradle

it's okay, but I don't really trust the mechanism
I had a scary moment while using this cradle when the swinging arm that I thought was firmly anchored in the bottom bracket popped out, the cradle collapsed, and the guitar I was working on plummeted to the table. Luckily, the guitar was a Fender, so no damage was done, but I shudder to think of what would have happened if I'd been working on a Gibson at the time. Since then, I've been securing the arm and bracket together with a couple of twist ties, which seems to be helping, but I'll just say that if you choose this product due to its modest cost, please do beware of this possible problem and take due care to prevent a headstock catastrophe.

Does the job but is flimsy
I don't know if "latch" is the right word, probably not. It pops out of those grooves pretty easily. It's a good idea, and works for the most part - I thought it would be a little better than my current support for setup work on my guitars. It's adjustable, which is why I thought I'd try it. But, just more junk...the latching mechanism isn't sturdy, so be careful that it doesn't slip and collapse. Could be detrimental to your guitar headstock. I was going to return it.

Solid and Useful
I've recently started doing some of my own luthier work on my collection of 8 guitars. This simple, inexpensive device solves the single biggest problem of working on a guitar while its laying down. Totally worth owning if you do any guitar work at all. Stores flat - nice and sturdy.

Its got adjustable height! Get one!
I have a large collection of guitars and I do my own maintenance. My original neck rest had one fixed position. Other neck rests use a large cube that is bulky. These fold up really nice and is very portable. I did a lot of “research” and found this better than the others.

Fantastic but kinda unstable
Let me just make it clear this is my first manufactured neck rest I’ve used. I’ve owned it for little over 2 years now, and I think it’s great, I use it frequently. My only issue with it is it gets a bit unstable when changing strings it tends to like to try to fall over. If it wasn’t for that it would have 5 stars.

Does the trick!
It's sturdier than it looks. Definitely holds the neck safely in place and I love that it folds flat, as I don't have tons of storage space.

Nice weight to it
Just as advertised, it holds your guitar's neck at the right angle. Nice weight to it, but it's also easy to bump the guitar and tip the cradle to its side! Of course this isn't as sturdy as an integrated guitar maintenance station, but it does the trick to hold your guitar for maintenance.

will never change strings without it ever again
i was struggling every time i needed to change strings to balance my guitar so i can change and wind the string on. I tried balancing the neck on a rolled up guitar strap at first; not good. then i borrowed a friends folding tripod neck stand which was much improved but still wobbly and not stable. i was going to buy one anyway though, until i spotted this one in the amazon list. i took a chance and I am SO glad i did. This thing folds flat and fits inside my guitar case storage compartment. It also unfolds to various heights but always ALWAYS 100% stable as it is has a great footprint to give it the stability. The guitar didnt move at all while re stringing today. honestly, i will never restring a guitar without using this. Ive tried both acoustics and my electric on this stand and all are fab. what a great purchase!!

Excellent product
Everything made by hercules is tough solid and works really well and this is no exception. This excellent product turns my Fender case into a mobile guitar string changing bench when I'm on tour. When not in use It folds flat and lives in the guitar case spare strings compartment till I need it.It supports the neck firmly and does not slip or move or damage the guitarEveryone should have one of these

Does what it should.
Although this turned out to be slightly smaller than I'd anticipated I'm happy with it. Seems to be basic yet well made and stable which is important. I can now string any of my instruments, both acoustic and electric, without leaning them against a table or chair while I mess about looking for the correct string or winder or cutters etc therefore much reducing the chance of either knocking it over or similar. Someone else mentioned that a pillow would do the job almost as well and it might but this item is much easier to transport and looks more professional. Overall I'm quite satisfied with this. At around a tenner (via Amazon Prime) it's good value however the 'normal' price of around £13 is possibly just a shade high but IMO probably still worth getting.Recommended.

Good piece of kit
I have ten guitars which I've been setting up for my preferred playing use and was struggling with keeping the guitar steady when fret dressing and leveling before I purchased this little tool.Very practical and easy to use which folds away quite nicely and ideal for keeping the neck steady while setting up the neck action or simply just putting on a new set of strings.I did consider making one but for the cost it's not worth the effort and being folding it means I can pop it into a drawer until my next need of it.It's sturdy and height adjustable too so better than a fixed height support.I like the Hercules brand and have all my guitars mounted on their equally sturdy wall brackets so I'm quite happy to use and recommend this product of theirs.

Well thought out and made product
Does the job well and is simple to use. I chose this stand even though it is somewhat overpriced because it is by Hercules and because it is both well engineered and built. The height is adjustable and the stand packs away to a small size yet does not topple easily. The materials are good quality and the guitar will not get scratched as the foam is thick and covers all likely contact areas. However it has to lose a star because it is sad that there is no competitor that offers similar and so can force a reasonable price.
