I saw this key and with the statement of being able to program at home I was intrigued more than anything. I needed another key for my fiesta so I could install a remote start anyway so sure $30 who can argue. After getting the key and having it cut I realized these people mean programming the key fob to lock and unlock the car. There’s a separate RFID chip inside the key that tells the immobilizer “hey this key should work you can start the car”. If that RFID chip is not programmed to your immobilizer it will not start the vehicle even if the key has been cut. I was interested in what they meant with the programming but yes you will need it professional programmed to the immobilizer in your vehicle before it will start the car even if the key has been cut. Nice alternative to dealer cost however still cost less than them

Great option for a second key and way cheaper than going through a dealer.

Ordered this for my 2011 Fiesta as an extra key. Had it cut by a local locksmith and did all the programming myself. It works as intended and I saved about 50% of the cost of getting a new key from a dealership.

After being cut and programmed by ford, key will manually unlock door and start the engine. Will manually lock door. Key fob is missing some internal parts. Does not work at all.
