Great pen for a great price
This pen comes in at a great price point for a fountain pen. I have a very expensive Waterman that is certainly much nicer in weight, look, and feel, but it is a little too delicate to take out of the office. I have tried the Cross low price point pen that is sold at a major office retailer. It comes in at around $40-$50 and does not compare in any way to this Lamy which is half the price. That other pen is oddly weighted, has a horrible converter, takes difficult to find cartridges and writes poorly. The Lamy is a little lightweight if you are used to a high quality fountain pen but it is not unbalanced like the previously mentioned Cross. The Lamy writes smoothly. The Extra Fine nib on the Lamy really is very extra fine. You have to hold it on the paper with the correct pressure like all fountain pens; but because it is extra fine, if you don't have the angle correct, there can be skipping. However, after using the pen for a few days, you will see how you need to hold it. The cap is secure. I purchased the Lamy Z24 converter which works like a charm. I've tried several different types of ink with this pen. Noodlers is the favorite. Had no leaks and no problems. I purchased both the Lamy Safari Blue Ex-Fine (L14EF) and Lami Safari Vista Extra-Fine (L12EF) and used the converter Lamy Safari Z24 on both. I am writing this review just as I order another one of these pens. Several people in my household use fountain pens. We all have "nice" pens that are the favorites, but there is no better low cost fountain pen on the market than this Lamy. It is perfect for lugging around in your pen case to school or mobile work sites.

Smooth writer
This is a high-quality pen at an affordable price.PROS- ICONIC CLIP ON CAP - I especially like the trademark oversized paperclip on the cap. This paperclip makes the pen very easy to locate even in a crowded pen cup with other similar colored pens.- REPLACEABLE NIB - You can also replace the original nib with other size nibs so it is great for those who may prefer different size nibs but who do not want to buy multiple pens.- SMOOTH WRITER - I am using the blue cartridge that came with the pen. The pen writes smoothly and there are no breaks in the line.- NO LEAK - There is no leaky ink on the nib as so often happens with other fountain pens. The rubber behind the nib is also perfectly clean.- WINDOW TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THE INK IS GETTING LOW - This is a very nice and convenient feature that is not available in most fountain pens.CONS- MINIMALIST LOOK - This minimalist and rather modern look may not appeal to those who prefer the more traditional fountain pen look.- EXTRA FINE NIB A BIT BROAD - The extra fine nib is a bit broader than the Hero 329 pen but it is still quite fine. This is not really a con but more of a note for buyers.- INCLUDED CARTRIDGE INK NOT AS NICE AS NOODLER'S INK - I have Noodler's black ink in my hero 329 and the Noodler ink is far darker and richer. Thus, I will install the Lamy Z24 converter into this pen to use Noodler's ink after this cartridge is spent. The Lamy Safari is a high quality and smooth writing pen for the price. I highly recommend it! If your budget is limited, you may want to try the Hero 329 fountain pens sold on a popular auction site. The quality is not as good as the Lamy but it may offer you a cheaper entry point to try fountain pens. I bought my Hero 329 and now I am onto Lamy Safari.

Great beginner pen
It is great quality for the price writes ridiculously smooth. Only flaws are that it doesn’t come with a converter and the extra fine tip writes kinda big.

First pen a dud, second one a dream
I ordered this pen after watching some reviews online and I really wanted to try using a fountain pen. I'm a college student so I end up doing a lot of writing and this seemed like an interesting way to change things up. I ordered the extra fine nib because I wanted it to write like a regular pen and look good on paper if I took notes. The first pen I got didn't work right. The nib scratched on the paper and the ink didn't flow consistently. This could have just been a misaligned nib, but I didn't want to risk it and ordered a replacement. The seller replaced my pen for free and the second one worked like a dream.I absolutely love my new pen and I even purchased the ink converter so that I could use different inks without waiting for the cartridge to die. I mainly use it for writing letters and papers at my desk because I'm afraid the abuse it would take in my backpack would somehow make the ink spill out of the pen. Writing with this pen is very different from writing with a ballpoint pen and it makes it less of a chore. This is a FANTASTIC pen and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to try a really high quality fountain pen for only a small price.

bad nib+$30 price tag (counting converter)=waste of money
I bought this to replace my pilot metro that had some leaking problems. While this one hasn't leaked in the 15min I've been using it, it has been such bad quality so as to motivate me to write my 1st review ever. The difference between the lamy nib and the pilot is night and day, the lamy is so scratchy while the pilot was buttery smooth. If you really like the lamy style for some reason, go buy some jinhao 599 pens, they only cost a couple bucks a piece and already come with a converter, as opposed to lamy that costs about $30 counting the converter. If you're willing to spend $30, get yourself a pen with a jowo nib or something like the TWSBI eco. Whatever you do, don't be dumb like me and waste your money on what may be the most overpriced fountain pen in the sub $100 range.

Entry into Fountain pens
A great entry level pen into the fountain pen hobby and very durable. Not the fanciest looking pen, but if you're getting this pen to use and not to impress overs, it definitely would be my recommendation.Pros:Very durable plastic bodySmooth replaceable nibMinimalistic designReasonably priced.Cons:The blue was a might lighter blue than expected.Due to how I hold my pen, the contours for finger placement took a while to get usedThe cap doesn't adhere tightly resulting in the pen falling out at times or drying out after periods of not using.Aside: the ink level indicator looks like a pregnancy test indicator

Price is too expensive as compared to Williams pen or other sites. Otherwise, lamy is lamy

Good Entry Pen
I got this pen due to my previous Al-star pen has a broken nib feed. The Lamy Safari's nib feed fits perfectly in the Al-star Safari Pen

I love it.
I said it before, I love it... but I keep losing them, so I buy another one. I suspect some other people like them too.
