Love story magic
Like any romance, you begin the book in anticipation that the leads will end together. They do.But in any slow burn romance, how they end up together is what matters. And in Emily Henry's capable hands, the story makes you curious about what happens next, while also making you laugh, and making your heart flutter.I would buy this and the Beach Read, and whatever Emily writes next!

Emily Henry is Amazing!
There is something about Emily Henry and her way with words that you love the books but you understand how the story ends. Her stories have a very realistic ending making me believe that this is fictional but maybe if it ever had to happen in real life this is how it would end and I absolutely love THAT about her books! Lovely read, you should go for it♥️♥️

a warm, cute romance between two polar opposite bff's
There isn't much to say about this book other than that it was a fun read. Though I think Beach Read was a better book than this one, I did like certain things about it. Like how Poppy and Alex's friendship was and how Poppy's childhood experiences held her back and how she figured it all out. Although I did get bored at one point and felt like I just needed to skip to the point where it all makes sense again. So that's why I'll give it a 3.5. I loved Emily's writing in Beach Read and somehow, I didn't quite like it as much in this book. But if you like best friends to lovers, lots of pining and vacation vibes, this book has it!

Review
I liked how the author has linked both past and present like the alternative was what I adored the most in this book. It allows you to deeply understand the characters, their relationship & the plot.I don't like slow burn a lot so that's the reason I didn't love love this book. The characters were so subtle and I missed the drama in it. I DNFd this book earlier but then i thought about giving it a try as i kind of invested my money. But it was a good thing to get my mind off from all the dark romance.

A friends to lovers story I loved
I am usually not a fan of friends to lovers trope because they just give me heartburn and not in a good way. This book was no different. It did give me the typical friends to lover trope with plenty of miscommunications, absent communications, missed oppurtunities, lots and lots of angst and let’s not forget, the heartburn but in the bestest possible way. Emily Henry does some kind of magic with her writings and makes even a trope I hate feel good. I loved Alex and Poppy so soooo much. It was intense, they were intense but also sweet and with witty banter but also the angst, oh the angst.... I realise I am rambling and that’s because my brain has decided it loves this book too much to form coherent sentences but anyway, I definitely recommend you checking it out if you enjoyed Beach Read and/or if you love friends to lovers. Even of you don’t like that trope, I would still recommend you to check it out because, it’s just too good 😌

The most irresistible summer read you’ll find this year.
"On vacation, you can be anyone you want. Like a good book or an incredible outfit, being on vacation transports you into another version of yourself. In your day-to-day life, maybe you can’t even bob your head to the radio without being embarrassed, but on the right twinkly-light-strung patio, with the right steel drum band, you’ll find yourself whirling and twirling with the best of them.”Poppy and Alex met 12 summers ago on orientation day at university and did not hit it off. Next summer, they ended up sharing a car ride home and made a pact - to spend one vacation together every year. Two summers ago, it all went wrong. This summer, Poppy has asked Alex to join her on one last trip. Two friends. Ten summer trips. Their last chance to fall in love?Let me begin by saying: I love, love, love this book. It was just the summer romance novel I’d been waiting for. Having dropped right in my lap and surpassing all expectations, this one has already reserved a spot on my 2021 list of favourites.Emily Henry knows exactly how to rope in her reader with a captivating story, sparkling prose, and sizzling chemistry. The banter between her characters in Beach Read was one of the reasons I loved her debut and she makes it the highpoint of her storytelling yet again.Packed with crazy summer adventures, uninhibited friendships, and burning angst, this is the most irresistible summer read you’ll find this year. Emily Henry is now a must-read author on my reading list. This ARC courtesy of NetGalley and Penguin Random House UK.For complete review, visit aquamarineflavours.wordpress.com
