Good Cook Can Opener, Safe Cut Manual no Sharp Edges, Black

I’ve been frustrated because I kept buying “good” can openers and they either dulled rapidly or refused to open certain types of cans. This GoodCook safe cutcan opener changes the way cans are opened! It slices just below the top rim and also crimps both the can and lid edges so there are no sharp edges! It’s very easy to turn, even for children. I’ve had it for about a year and there hasn’t been a can type that it doesn’t open easily. It still works perfectly and is very easy to clean. I’ll never go back to the old traditional-type of opener. Once you try it, you’ll be converted!

Confesso que na primeira vez não acertei muito bem o encaixe, mas agora não quero outra coisa pra abrir latas. Corte limpo, uso suave, eficiente, não deixa aquelas pontas que machucam. Indico.

Aunque apenas llevo unos días, el producto se ve de buena construcción, su función la lleva de manera más que adecuada y muy intuitivo. He leído que después de apenas algunos usos les dejó de funcionar, espero no sea mi caso, aunque a mí consideración, está bien construido por lo que no esperaría que en el corto plazo deje de funcionar.

We. Love. This. Gem. This is one of those things we wish we bought years ago.HOW IT WORKS: Lifts the lid off the can (cylinder) instead of cutting through it. Can ends are pressed onto the cylinders at the food plants and this opener just reverses that process by separating the ends from the cylinders.'Not sure what others' issues are getting this to work. It's not hard - just different. It basically wedges itself off the side of the can rather than hooks into the lid. It doesn't really look or feel like it's doing anything as it works its way around the can, but it leaves small ridges on the top rim - sort of like the edge of a worn quarter - and with very little resistance. Then once it completes the circle, there's no resistance at all and by just tilting the outside of the opener up a bit , the entire lid comes off in the form a ring. Then just reverse the 'winder' slightly and the ring comes right of the opener.WHY WE LOVE IT: With so little resistance/tension, it's much easier to turn than cut-style openers (great for my arthritis & tendonitis!) and sure enough - no sharp edges. None. Best part for us is that the cans are craft/shop/garden ready. We've wanted to repurpose empty cans for a while now but hit hurdles due to their sharp openings. But once our umpteenth electric and manual cut-style openers crapped out, we opted for this one. So glad we did.100% SOLD: We've not experienced any of the other problems noted in the one-star and two-star reviews. No metal filings or shards in food. No sharp pokey things sticking out of the can (there really can't be since it doesn't cut). No gear or mechanical failures. No problems engaging it. No problems getting it to work right. We've had it for several months and open at least one can per day. We've used it with 100% success on everything from rigid 16oz soup cans to flimsy 3 oz cat food cans. AND ... we use in on the tops AND bottoms (when we need an open cylinder for crafts). It's already lasted longer and is more reliable than the name-brand electric & manual cut-style openers we've had in the past. At $10, even if this gadget only lasts a year, we'll be happy :-)

This is hands down the best can opener I’ve ever used! It’s so smooth, sturdy, and makes a clean blunt cut. I’ve bought and thrown out so many different ones over the past few years, from super cheap to pretty expensive ones, and this is by far superior to all of them. Highly recommend
