An honest review, with photos.
First, let me explain that I bought this during a Warehouse sale, for about $50. A steal, compared to the (present) $155 price. Someone bought this, returned it, and I got the chance to be the lucky new owner. One man’s trash…So, this is a hunk of lodgepole pine. Please don’t give the negative reviews much merit. These are people who think they know better, but don’t. Sure, you can buy a $35 pine tree at a nursery and grow it for 10 years and then bring it to your mill to get it cut down and then you can get your tools and hand scrape the bark off and then spray 3 coats of lacquer on it and call it a day. If you have all those resources.Or you can just buy this thing. Much easier, cheaper, and less time consuming of a solution.It’s heavy. Like 50ish pounds. It looks just about like the photos in the listing. Obviously, each one will be unique. The finish is good. Because of the natural checking (cracks) in the wood, the lacquer may eventually chip off. I have a can in the garage I can spray it with, if that ever happens.Overall, I really like this thing. For what I paid, it was totally worth it and I’d buy 7 more at that price if I could. If you’re looking for a hunk of tree to use as a side table, you can’t go wrong with this one.
