So far so good. The welder seems to be robust and well ...
The unit arrived much earlier than the stated time. The welder requires 220V 50/60 hz power but for some reason it was equipped with a standard U.S. 110v 15 amp plug. I contacted the manufacturer who got back to me promptly and answered my questions to my satisfaction. I changed the plug end to a standard 220V twist lock, plugged the welder in and tested it out with some 4mm HDPE rod. The welder heats up quickly and worked well during my test. So far so good. The welder seems to be robust and well made. Not a big deal but the temp readout is difficult to read if you are in bright sun or overhead lighting. I found it necessary to shade the readout with my hand to be able to read the temperature and make adjustments.
