Not easy to use.
Holding up good so far. Not easy to work with especially for hot ambient. This is my 2nd purchase, the first try, it got fully cured after 45seconds of mixing, and I didn't even have a chance to apply it to the tank. But in terms of fixing the gas leak, this is 5 stars.

Talk about a life saver
We noticed there was a gas leak in my car. At first we thought it was condensation, but we kept smelling gas. We took it to a mechanic, who said it would cost about $400 just for the gas tank, not including labor. We Googled it and this was recommended. We were a bit leery, but decided it was worth a try. So glad we tried it because my husband found a crack in the gas tank, he let all the gas out and waited til the tank was dry and then applied this. Problem fixed! Saves so much money at least for now.

Fast curing and very strong
I bought this to fix a crack in an Infiniti g35 gas tank. I prefer 2-part epoxies and this got good reviews. I drained the tank completely before starting, and scraped off the undercoating. Also used light sandpaper to completely clean the area 2-3" around the crack. Use gloves when using the epoxy. The resin and hardener get mixed right in the bag which is convenient. The instructions say you have about 5 minutes to use it, but you don't have that long - you need to hurry. I first tried applying it with the little plastic trowel, but that is not very efficient. The epoxy hardened before I got half of it applied. The little brush they give you is a joke. I was also on my back so it was more difficult. After it cures for a while I sanded it lightly until smooth. I used a second package to finish the job, this time using my fingers to apply it. This allowed me to push it into place better and rub it in good. It's a little soupy and beware that it gets very hot as it cures, almost too hot to touch. The second batch stuck really well.I've been driving the car for about 3 months with no issues. I'm happy with this product. Just be diligent with the prep and make sure you get 2 packs because it cures faster than you can use it. Good luck.

Easy to mix and apply. Rock solid patch kit with everything you need.
I have used another type of patch on my steel gas tank and it eventually fell off. It was a two part putty that mixed together. I searched and found this product and thought I would give it a try. It was amazing and far superior. You first lay out the yellow putty in the crack or puncture. Then you mix the two part epoxy in it's convenient sealed bag. Then you cut a small hole in the corner and squeeze it out over the patch area. They provide a piece of fiberglass that goes down over the putty and grips with the epoxy. Apply with the supplied brush. All said and done it took me about 20 minutes with careful reading, cleaning (with the sand paper they provided) and applying.I would use this again and recommend it to anyone in need of steel patching. It hardens really fast so be prepared.

EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED, NO GIMMICKS, WILL FIX YOUR LEAK 100%
If you’re dumb enough to drill into your gas tank like me, let permatex carry your worries away! This kit is incredible. Worth every penny. Fixed 3 major drill holes with this one kit. (Fair warning: do not do this under the car if you can help it, if you have to 100% do this under the car be ready to have a barber cut chunks of this stuff out of your hair and hope you look good with a fade. Ask me how I know)
