Q: Are these safe to use in the microwave (not the oven)? I've bought these, but am not sure if I should take the chance on using them in microwave.

Although glass is usually safe in microwaves, I tested the bowls just to be sure. They are microwave safe!

Q: Description says they are clear, but two reviewers say they are tinted gray or green. Which is correct?

I believe they are clear, but because of the design cut into the glass they appear gray. It seems the glass picks up reflections from surrounding materials. I love them! The size is perfect for small salads and look nicer than plain glass. My dining area is butter yellow and blue and they look fit wonderfully with my dishes.
