MapedHelix USA Map Pins in Dispenser Case, Assorted Colors, Pack of 100 (346011ZC)

I had been looking for an easy method to hang hooked rugs until I recently ran across another rug hooker that started using these pins! Hooray, map pins to the rescue! They are easy to push into wallboard, leave a very small hole and the head is buried amongst the wool hooked strips. If I ever take the rugs down then I might have to do a small patch job before repainting but that's okay since I don't move my rugs, once up on the wall, around often. If I have any complaint at all it is that they could be 1/8" longer but if you bury enough of them along the top of the rug it's probably NEVER going to come down! Oh, and the package sucks! Once you open it then you need to find another way to store your pins because they will fall out! Otherwise, I love the pins and they do exactly what I needed them to do.

We used these pins to make our own wall-sized travel map. The assortment of colors is nice for color coding places traveled, lived, born, etc. They work well for what we needed... if you push them all the way into the cork board though, and then try to pull them out, sometimes the heads pop off. Better to just stick them about half-way in.

We bought a huge wall map and had it framed for decoration. Also, so we could mark off all the places the wife and I have traveled within the good ol' US of A (we're gonna need more pins!). Since this will be on a wall in our home, we wanted quality, good looking products. These pins fit the bill nicely. They are a little pricey for what they are but we didn't want cheap pins that had a poor finish or rough spots. Even though these are made in China, they are quite good... so I'm suspecting the company that had them made specified stringent quality control measures.UPDATE: We bought 400 more pins of a different brand for half this price and promptly sent them back. There was no comparison in the look and feel of the pins. This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. We just ordered several more packs of these pins.

Nice product. The colors on the ball part seem dull/faded.Still using them as they are good enough, but I don't think I will buy them again when I need more.

We ordered a map to track family travels and these are perfect. We use a different color depending on who has been where. (Yellow = all of us; green = me and my husband; blue = just him; red = just me, etc.) I wish they would list a size. The metal part of the pin is 1/2 inch with the pin head nice and large at 3/8 inch. My husband tried to buy more at Staples, but they're much smaller and the colors aren't as nice. We have red, green, black, white, blue, and yellow. I will be buying more. I wish they would fill the box more. It's a great little re-closeable box, but it's only 1/4 full.

Pins are fine, but in my rush to wrap up Christmas shopping I failed to realize I could have bought the same thing for about $1 locally.

These pins are the perfect size to pin locations on a map. I use them on a National Geographic map of the UK, and they work well (I glued the map onto foamboard from the crafts store).I tried larger pins on the National Geographic map, even some with flags, but larger pins were too overwhelming. Larger pins would do well if you're pinning a classroom map when you want to see things at a distance. And the thing about pins with flags is that the flags really only work if the map is horizontal. When you hang the map on wall, there's no flag to see. You're better off with a straight pin like this one.

these work great on my map and cork board. the only bad thing is if it gets stuck in something when you try and pull it out the head may get pulled off and leave the metal part sticking out...

A pesar de ser una marca conocida, no tiene buena calidad, las cabezas se sueltan del alfiler.No vienen 100 en el paquete como indican, a mí me faltan 11!Y parece que vienen con uso, algún alfiler doblado y bolas sucias. No se le puede pedir más por el precio que tiene, pero es mejor comprar en tienda física para evitar estos problemas...

Se me han roto varias si se hace un poco de fuerza al ponerlas, no me han convencido del todo.

Who needs 100 map pins?! Not too many people. I used 3 for my map! The rest I shall use to supplement my sewing kit! :)

Ces épingles sont très utiles. On peut les utiliser sur un tableau en liège pour afficher des documents mais on peut aussi les utiliser en complément de punaises pour placer et/ou indiquer des choses sur une carte car la boîte contient des épingles de différentes couleurs. Recommander pour les personnes dans les bureaux qui utilisent beaucoup les tableaux en liège pour travailler et faire passer des informations.
