Q: So I recently bought a mailer that is 6x9 but since it’s padded the usable space is only 5x9 ... what is the internal space of this mailer?

These 6x10 mailers do not expand much at all, I would say inside usable space would be 6x10 if item is paper thin, if item is closer to an inch thick the usable space would be more like 4x7

Q: How much does a single envelope weigh?

Because there's stuffing in them the weight will vary slightly. I weighed 2 and one was 2.4 oz and another was 2.5 oz

Q: Are these compostable? Or are they filled with plastic for padding?

They are filled with recycled paper and can be recycled again.

Q: What is the actual measurement of these envelopes? Not what the manufacturer claims, but actual measurement, please. Thank you!

The actual measurement prior to sealing is as the manufacturer claims. Closed, the measurement is 8.5" x 13.25". Note that this is these are outer dimensions with the envelope empty; whatever goes in the envelope has to be smaller :-)
