The size stated is the ring size, not the size of the binder edge.
I've always thought the size of a binder, was the edge (?) size, so ordered these according to that. These are determined by the size of the ring, which is stated if you read through all the fine print. Just be aware when ordering. Otherwise, these are sturdy.
