Lipper International 811 Bamboo Wood File Organizer with 4 Dividers, 12 3/4" x 9 1/4" x 9 1/2"

Got this to go along with a bamboo vertical organizer. Will work well for my needs. Well made. Would be perfect if it came with one more shelf so you you don't have to buy them separate.

I read some of the negative reviews on this product but wanted to take a chance to purchase anyway and glad I did. In my case I wanted this to put on my desk and to put my desk top computer I-MAC monitor on it. I did not know whether it would take the weight without breaking or sagging. It did neither. It is constructed of a double layer of wood that is glued making it stronger, I would think. This is probably not made with German metric precision but I looked at it carefully and did not see any rough edges, design flaws, etc. I think that the shelves are all the same measurement and the variability may be in the depth of the router to make the grooves there that shelves fit in. A little deeper grove with the router makes for a looser shelf. If it at least catches on both ends, one can easily take a small strip longitudinally which tears easily of duct tape and cut it to the length of the side of the shelf and run it along the edge not even seen from a distance to "beef up" a bit if you think it is too lose a fit. I noticed only one shelf with a little more "play" in it in the middle section but it was not worrisome to me to change my rating. The side boards did not seem to be warped which could account also for that in others who have written here with problems. I did not notice that in my eyeball inspection. In case there is some variability in the shelf looseness you can also try switching them around for those who have had problems also is in case on shelf is slightly bigger. So I now have way less desk clutter and can find the things I need. I like the height because sometimes I like to stand up while on the computer and the increased height of 8 1/2 " makes this possible for me. So I can either stand or sit with this new height. Although not what it was designed for, it was one of my needs because I sit too much and now I can stand if I want and even work out on my stair stepper that I have under the desk while on my computer.

I bought this in December 2016. Earlier reviews from the 2011-2012 time frame were highly negative whereas more-recent reviews trended a lot more positive. So I gave it a try.I am very happy with this desktop organizer. The entire frame seems made of bamboo. The four shelves are a wood laminate with bamboo outer layers that match the rest of the unit. Fit and finish seems very good. The shelves fit in the slots well while still sliding fairly easily. Slots in the sidewalls of the unit allow adjusting the shelves in 1" spacing increments. Very good build quality. And quite attractive!It came packed extremely well. The organizer was in a carton with appropriate paper padding and that carton was inside an Amazon shipping carton. Everything arrived in fine shape. No assembly required.The unit is sized really well. It is compact on the desktop. Shelves are 12" wide x 8.6" deep x adjustable height. They easily accommodate letter-size papers or miscellaneous items. I place a wireless router on top to give it added height above the desk and therefore better wi-fi reception.It can be used horizontally or vertically. I suggest putting small felt feet on the bottom surface if placing this organizer on a wooden desktop as should be done with anything being placed on a wooden surface.I highly recommend this unit and suggest you focus on more-recent reviews rather than older reviews in making your purchase decision.If this review was helpful please let me know by voting for it.

This organizer is actually quite excellent, far better than the horrific reviews it has from several years ago. I ordered two of these and they both came already assembled with no damages at all. The listing photo accurately demonstrates what you receive. The shelves are easy to adjust and even though some customers are complaining that the shelves aren't real bamboo, that doesn't affect the usability of this organizer. The only downside is that the two sides of the organizers I ordered are not perfectly vertical, so when I sit them side by side, there's a slight gap between them at the top. However, these organizers are far cheaper than other options on Amazon and they absolutely get the job done, so I'm still giving this 5 stars. If you care more about organizing your desk rather than having something that looks expensive and fancy, this is perfect and cost effective solution: highly recommend!

It arrived in perfect condition. Quite happy with the quality.I am using it for a slightly different purpose. I am a salesman on the road and I was looking for something nice to organize my catalogs and order forms for in my car.I lay this on it's back and it is working perfectly.Yes you will always end up with one space narrower than the others - but for me that is a plus since it keeps my 1 page forms from curling.I do like this enough that I am planning on buying 1 or 2 more for the office. (To use as originally intended)Oct 11 2010 Update- This unit has held up perfectly, even tho it gets moved in and out of my car often (full too). Has not warped or separated in any way.I just purchased a second one - it also arrived in perfect condition. I expect to be getting a third shortly.PS I am buying these thru Amazon and shipping has been very fast.Jan 18 2013 UPDATE - I currently have 2 of these. One stays stationary in my office. The other (the first one I bought)holds my sales literature and travels in my car.After almost 3 years of lugging it in and out - it is still amazingly holding up perfectly. Am completely satisfied

This is an attractive paper organizer. It's the perfect size for 8 1/2 x 11 paper. It looks much better in my office than the old metal tray.
