I think I've a new hobby! Excellent raw beans!
The media could not be loaded. The beans arrive well packaged in a good quality reusable bag. There are a lot of beans here, and when roasted due to their size increase, I think you could be looking at around double the amount of space! This was the first time I'd tried roasting raw coffee beans, so after a bit of research, contemplating whether I use my pop-corn machine, my air-fryer, the oven, a wok, maybe acquire a dedicated coffee roaster, or use an old school method of roasting the beans in a cast iron Dutch oven, also known as a flat bottom potjie pot to some. As I have several cast-iron pots and pans and a love for them, that was my obvious choice. And a good choice it was!It was very easy to roast in it, far less messy than I expected, and a lot less smokey than I envisioned! In the video I uploaded, it appears smokier than it is due to the camera being almost directly above the pot during filming, but it wasn't too bad. The main mess, which is the dried shells or husks of the beans, remained in the pot. Pouring the beans between my colander and sieve in a slight breeze outside got rid of any remaining husks. Very easy, and quick. After the beans had cooled, I immediately added them to my slow grinder, which had them ground down to my coarseness preferred. I will at some point make up a batch that I can leave to mature for a few days after to see how big a difference the flavour is, which supposedly it is. But, for the most part, the coffee came out very well and tasted fantastic! The overall process was relaxing and somewhat satisfying too, and I think I've found a bit of a new hobby in trying different roasting techniques, methods, timings to get the perfect brew! I might even try a light smoking on them to see what that tastes like!Overall, I could waffle on for ages here, so I'll just end with my opinion of the beans. They're great quality, came out roasted great, tasted great, and I think because they bulk up somewhat during roasting, they are quite a decent amount for the money too... they're an easy 5 stars for me! Love it! If you’re on the fence about trying to roast your own, do it! It’s worth it if you have the time to spare!

Fun to experiment with, not hard to do.
I didn't realise these were raw when I ordered them, as the screen we order from on Vine has much smaller text. But I've had a pleasant time learning to roast coffee beans. It turns out it's pretty easy. You can do it in a frying pan, an oven, an air fryer, even a popcorn machine. I found the air fryer to be the best because it achieves the most even roastWhile it's not hard to do, it is hard to get right. Evenly roasting in a frying pan is practically impossible and the fan oven was a bit easier but still, you can't turn every bean the same way. The air fryer got it right most consistently but I'd ran out of beans before I started really perfecting it. You can stop between two "crack" stages, which you can look up photos and audio of, for the depth of roast you are looking for. It is good fun and doesn't take as much time or effort as I expected, but it does seem a bit pricey for something that requires so much more work.

No Fancy Equipment Required
I absolutely love coffee - I really can't function without my daily latte (or two)! Before discovering this product, I didn't even know roasting coffee at home was a thing. But, to my surprise, it's so easy to do! You don't need any fancy equipment - all you need is an oven and a coffee grinder to get started. One thing I really appreciate is how the beans arrive in a resealable bag. This is perfect because my plan was to roast them in smaller batches over time, rather than doing everything in one go. Being able to easily seal the bag and keep the remaining beans fresh is a plus. What I really enjoyed about the process is that you can control how strongly you roast the beans. It's a fun chance to experiment! Roasting the beans yourself is so satisfying, and it adds something special to the experience. And the freshness? Well, it's hard to describe, but there's a real depth to the coffee. The general flavour of the coffee is very smooth and rich. It's not too strong. It's the type of coffee I'd use as my main brew - nothing too exotic, just a really solid, delicious coffee. There's a lovely hint of fruity sweetness, but it's subtle, balancing out the rich coffee taste nicely. In conclusion, roasting your own beans is surprisingly simple. With just an oven and a grinder, you can dive right in. These beans are great for beginners too because the flavour is wonderfully balanced - not too intense, not too sweet, but with a bit of character that I'm sure many will love.

First time home roasting and suitably impressed
This is my first go with green beans and while i'm still getting my head around it i've been impressed. I went with the hob roast method to give me more control over the roast and roasted in very small batches so if i messed up it wasn't a big loss.In the end i got to what i would call a medium to dark roast, more or less what i was aiming for and 24hrs* later i was enjoying a really decent brew.*Time needed to let the carbon dioxide escapeUnquestionable it's more work using green beans, but the result, even with my early efforts has been a lovely brew. I'm not sure if that's because i roasted them myself or just that they're good beans to start with, either way really pleased and looking forward to tweaking the roast further.Recommended.

Unroasted Raw Coffee Beans
I’ve been roasting my own coffee beans at home for a while now, and these green coffee beans from Brazil are fantastic! The Catucai Amarelo variety has a unique and rich flavour profile, which I absolutely love. The pulped natural honey process gives it a smooth, well-balanced taste with lovely hints of sweetness. Roasting them at home is a satisfying experience, and the 1kg pack offers great value. The beans arrived in excellent condition, and they’ve been perfect for creating a fresh, personalised cup of coffee every time. If you’re a home roaster, I highly recommend giving these a try – they’re an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys a high-quality, fresh brew!
