Works fine on potatoes.

Cute but not too practical
This tool was intended to mash avocados, which it will do. The problem is a design flaw. The tool is not easy to dislodge the mashed vegetables from the surface that is used to mash because of the size and shape of the openings.

Pleased!
Came as pictured and thus far a good heavy-duty product, which was purchased for my Daughter's Kenmore play kitchen only.

Cute but not as functionable
love the look of this but was not good to use. It got food pits stuck in weird points and didnt mash up all the food. It was a pain to clean out the little crevices as well. Really cute but not worth it in my opinion.

Stay safe

The Perfect Masher
It's rare for me to name a kitchen utensil, but I immediately christened this potato masher Squidley. How could I not? He's too charming to be denied a name.I always mash potatoes by hand and when I spotted this guy, I had to have him whether he worked well or not. Happily, he did not disappoint: Squidley works better than either of my metal mashers. Plus, he doesn't try to keep my utensil drawer from opening like the metal ones do.He is comfortable in my hand and easy to use. His weight is just right, too, and he's not going to break. He mashes potatoes like a champ. Unlike regular mashers, he's also terrific for squishing together a meatloaf. Prior to Squidley, I had to use my hands to get the consistency I wanted in a meatloaf -- and that meant I didn't make it very often because it's a disgusting job. But Squidley is up to the task. His curling tentacles make much shorter and more efficient work of food squishing tasks than anything else I've ever used that's not powered by electricity. He's perfect. Try him the next time you make applesauce, too. Finally, he's a hit on social media. Pop a pic of him up on Facebook and say you got him to mash potatoes. The responses about the other things he'd be good for are hysterical. The picture here is of Squidley and his pal, Specky the apple corer. They're a winning combination. Mmm-mmm good!
