Like being trapped in an elevator
I waited two months to order the candle, not wanting it to melt in transit. It arrived in great condition, and I unwrapped it last night and set it alight like a budding pyromaniac.If you've ever been trapped in an elevator with someone who bathed in jasmine and musk, then you know. I couldn't get away from it. I couldn't dilute it. Moving it from my bedroom to the living room just moved the epicenter, but it was still an 8 on the Richter scent scale everywhere else.Maybe if we lived in an open-air stadium, it wouldn't have been so overwhelming?I shut it in a cupboard overnight and now my secret stash of chocolate and my collection of Star Wars memorabilia smell like a high-priced call girl.Had to take a Claritin this morning after I almost had an asthma attack, and I don't have asthma.I finally double-bagged it in sealed plastic baggies out of self-preservation and figured I'd unseal it when we needed a nuclear-bomb level stench, maybe to combat the zombie deer apocalypse, but after a couple of hours the perfume Houdini'd it's way through the plastic.It's now in the big trash can outside and will become the giant overscented Glade of our local dump.
