A Journal Lover's Journal
This is my new favorite journal (the A-4) .... and I have tried many kinds over the years.I look for1) large (8.5x11) pages for ease of writing and getting enough writing's worth per side2) thick pages that don't bleed through with a variety of pen thickness, and3) enough pages per journal.(Yes, they count each 'side' as one page, hence the more 'page count' confusion.)The book lays flat when opened -which is nice -and two ribbon place markers are nice, but even one would be great for me.The soft cover isn't a game changer for me (I like hard or soft cover journals) and the added pocket thing in the back (with the added bonus sticker place markers) are nice, but not a necessity for me. For me, it is all about those pages.I like the choice of cover colors to differentiate between journals a bit (over the years it is nice to see at a glance which journals are from which years... in case of needing to reference something...) but I have never spilled anything on the covers to know about cleanup and such. Why certain colors are priced higher than others, is interesting to me... but there are enough colors offered to satisfy my color likes. This is my second order of this brand and would recommend this A-4 size hands-down.(I hope to get more colors of these eventually~ )

High quality paper at a great price
The paper is very thick and has a very nice smooth finish. The quality of the paper is something you would normally find in more expensive notebooks.

Thick paper. More sturdy than typical school notebooks...
Thick paper. More sturdy than typical school notebooks...Its not exactly college ruled, it looks more like a planner, with a section showing the date at the top of each page. Nonetheless, the pages are ruled and thick. Its made in China. Seems to hold up better than the typical Meade "5 star" notebook, but again, beware if turning in special assignments, the paper may not be what your professor wants...but its fine for my purposes as an autodidact at home studying the classics...

Worth the buy
I love this journal and will make this a future buy once I fill up the pages of my current one. Enough pages to write on, front to back. A place for the date at the top of each page. The journal has a built-in ribbon to use as book keeper. Outside band latches on to keep book secure and closed after each use. This is my first notebook-length journal. Most of my journals have always been small, so I would run through them rapidly. I am so impressed with this style of journal. It comes in various beautiful colors as well.

For me two thumbs up!
I purchased it so I can practice calligraphy and the use of fountain pens.PROs:Sheets are 100 gsm. No ink running to the other side on most inks, allowing me to continue practicing on the next page and saving me from ruining the next sheet. Am happy until now, I just got it today. Am waiting for my inks to arrive so I can continue testing. Used my Lamy fountain pens with Lamy ink, Pentel Brush Pens and their inks, also Pigma Micron and they all performed great, no bleeding or spread. Not a CON but tested with Sharpie Markers and it writes and holds beautiful, no spread at all, but, but... it ruins for you to be able to use the next page, ink doesn't come through but is dark enough to ruin what you want to do on it confusing your judgement. Bu at least it doesn't ruing the next sheet! The yellow on the screen is a vivid one, but hey! Can't blame the seller, our eyes, photos, and computers calibrations alters the view, am graphic designer, so this yellow is like a brimstone yellow family, light mustard and so.Happy with my purchase will order another one soon
